* Armed Assault - MAF Mod


    Loïck released news of a release of the MAF 2.0 very soon, in the BI Forums.

    Indeed, we have decided to release the full mod version 2.0 because the number of change is far too large for a simple update ... but what changes, you say?
    The MAF Mod 2.0 includes all units of the first version of course ... but the multiplayer and solo performances were greatly improved.
    Many devices, particularly the NH90 or the Super-Etendard modernization have been corrected. Many improvements are often not visible to the players have been developed over a large part of vehicles for better feeling in the game!

* Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead - Northern Takistan map

    DigitalCenturion has released some new screens detailing the northern takistan map, in the BI Forums.

    While a desert is pretty ideal for a large map like this and also keeping fps managable, I really dont know enough of about places like this to beliavably place culture objects and stuff. Not sure if the end users reflect on this, but it slows the creative process down a bit.
    Also, it has dawned on me now how darn big 40x40km is as a game world, its HUGE! Just walking from side to side would take 8 hours (calculated using a 5km/hr walk pace).
    As much as I'd love a christmas public beta i dont think i could manage a bug free release by then. The config issues are whats really holding this baby back, but ill resolve them soon enough, i think...

* Arma 2 Combined Operations - Invasion 1944


    PacUK released a video and some screenshots of the I-44 Mod, in the BI Forums.

    Here's a sneak peak at some of the Armor that we'll be featuring in the Combined Operations version of Invasion 1944. First up is the Sherman M4A3 E8 "Easy Eight" HVSS by Marss911. A stronger and more powerful version of the Sherman, its also the first of our Armor units to have the 'Cargo' crew spots added enabling infantry to ride on top of the tank for transport, Macolik has done some new animations for the infantry to laze across the hull. This also leads us into a new feature Macolik has also implemented. The new 'overpressure' feature affects those units riding on and in close proximity to the tanks main gun. When fired the unit experiences a blinding flash, a disorientating view shake, an ear rattling ringing, and even the possibility of losing their weapon while being thrown from the vehicle.

    Meanwhile over on the German side we've reimplemented the range of SdKfz 234 Schwere Panzerspähwagen (8-Rad) Heavy Armoured Cars by Jean Christophe. The conversion to Combined Operations so far is going really well, we're beggining our internal multiplayer tests this weekend so hopefully we'll have some footage and screens from that for you all to enjoy soon!
