hcpookie released version 1.2 of his MV22 Door Gunner Project on the
BI forums.
Quote hcpookie :
This addon provides M134, M240 door guns and the Remote Guardian Interim Defense Weapon System (IDWS).
This version is Multiplayer compatible - all previous MP issues are now fixed.
The IDWS is a belly-mounted M134 gun system purpose-built for the MV22. The IDWS is similar to a CROWS remote weapon system. The manned MV22-IDWS versions for USMC, US, and BAF are also found under Air > MV22-IDWS (also under Empty > Air).
A good fastrope and/or vehicle towing addon is strongly recommended with this addon! Mission makers should consider something like Norrin's fastrope addon.
Changelog:
- Removed action shortcuts that interfere with keyboard flying for those who still haven't bought themselves a joystick
Don't get me wrong, this is a good addition, but the whole reason why the MV-22 doesn't have side guns (like you might expect) is because of the risk of brass getting pulled into the engines. The IDWS is pretty sweet though. Downloading now...
Cool, looks like my mods request was answered. I think petsfed has a good point about the side door guns. Could you attach the M2 or Minigun to the ramp permenantly and add a gunner in siting position. That would be extra cool :)
I should be clear, the IDWS is an actual component seeing real world use. Its just that one of the major short comings of the Osprey's engine layout is that its very difficult to arm it in a traditional fashion (e.g. door gunners) because of the risk of brass getting pulled into the engine, backwash from the engines severely affecting accuracy, and the huge defensive blind spot that the engines entail.
Hey i have a problem ,When i use the action ''Mount Door Guns''i get an error ,this is the following error ''Script mv22reargunner.sqf not found'' please help ?
Oh yeah! Exactly what I wanted. Thanx for your work. btw, you prolly know this but the side door gunner has a piece of the door above him. Cheers.
When you have additional dependencies, you should LIST them. Nothing is more frustrating than missing dependencies or incorrectly labeled dependencies.
