A collection of reskins based on the stock BIS KamAZ models, intended for civilian use. As a bonus, a pack of KamAZ trucks for the CDF is included, along with a few skins for civilian UAZs.
Yes, it is my first addon. Apologies in advance!
This pack contains no less than 7 distinct colour schemes for the civilian KamAZ: red, yellow, dark blue, light blue, beige, white and orange. These schemes are applied over both closed and open variants, and there is also the KamAZ Repair truck and Fuel truck available in orange, fitting a construction company-esque theme. On top of that, there are three other varieties of the KamAZ Fuel truck - one unbranded in white and red, as well as a "Poshol" truck and a "Schnell" truck (extra_kamaz_schnell.pbo)
And as a bonus, you can also have three new civilian versions of the UAZ in grey, blue and red, as well as a pack featuring the KamAZ in CDF colours.
As we always recommend use modfolders to seperate the custom content from the official game content to prevent problems. For different ways to set up your modfolders and use them please visit our FAQ
When you are using the Steam version you can find a Steam mod installation and activation FAQ here
The civilian units can be found under - CIVILIAN > CHERNARUS > CARS or > SUPPORT (fuel and repair truck)
The Schnell fuel truck can be found under - CIVILIAN > TAKISTANI > SUPPORT
The CDF units can be found under BLUFOR > CDF > CARS or > SUPPORT
The KamAZ units are found under the name "KAMAZ" **not** "Utility Truck".
Combined Operations is required to play. Arma II standalone users may use all but the extra_kamaz_schnell.pbo.
This mod makes no attempts to change specular maps and other texture files associated with the stock KamAZ and UAZ models; this will lead to sunlight catching markings that are no longer there, as it were. This is particularly evident on the fuel tanker. Due to a limitation of the KamAZ model, the chassis texture cannot be changed easily - this limits the full potential of re-skinning the KamAZ as it ruins the appearance of the sides of the normal truck's cargo area. A dull compromise was made, but the front-wheel mudguards remain an unwelcome shade of green...
Other known issues include:
* The Enemy/Friendly TAG display automatically treats any civilian UAZ and KamAZ units as OPFOR, though this has no impact on how the game otherwise treats them. CDF KamAZ units are displayed correctly.
* Despite the constant references to KamAZ, the trucks in this pack quite obviously display the name ZAMAK, as per the original game models.
* The Poshol logo on the side of the fuel tanker is a crude attempt to work around the unavoidable mirroring of the model's textures.
* Though great effort has been made to polish these textures, they are still rough around the edges. Any glaring mistakes I'll be more than happy to iron out if you come across them.
