Liberation of Chernarus


October 2006 Foreign rebel Chedaki forces invade Chernarus, with the intention to overthrow the government and commit genocide. The CDF manage to hold off the Chedaki from pushing farther South but the Chedaki gain control of Northern Chernarus.
August - September 2008 After 2 years of stalemate war and the last few months in peace, the Chedaki mount a large attack that catches the CDF by surprise and manage to gain control of most of the country besides Elektrozavodsk. Horrible war crimes are committed against the local populace by the Chedaki. International pressure mounts to stop the tragedy.
September 4 2008 The United States begins Operation Salvation, to liberate Chernarus from Chedaki control.

  • This is my view of what kind of campaign should come with a game like ArmA 2; a good balance between Spec Ops, being a small pawn in large battles and sniping plus a couple of other things.

    Extract the .pbo file(s) to your ArmA2\Campaigns folder.

    -Not tested with any mods but soundmods should work great.
    -The campaign is best played in ArmA 2 v1.1 as it was made in this version. The cutscenes will not work properly outside of this version. Also, the night vision with sniper scopes will not function correctly in CO, along with other possible problems.
    -Weapon selection available in some pre-mission briefings where player is squad leader (SpecOps). Go to 'units' and then select 'gear'.
    -Make sure your volume for 'music' is turned on in audio options. Some sounds may not be heard without it. This goes for all the other volumes too.
    -View distance minimum recommended should be at least 4000-5000.
    -Some missions *may* cause lag on lower end computers, turn your graphics down if this happens.
    -Prologue is best viewed with post processing set to at least minimum for some PCs as blur effects are used.
    -No known bugs, but some errors will happen occasionally such as helicopters crashing unexpectedly due to AI error.

  • Fixed issue in mission #7 where the A-10 on occasion will continue attacking targets after the initial objective is completed
  • Fixed issue in mission #8 where squad 'talking' may be disabled for the whole mission. Also greatly reduced the probability of this happening in some other missions
  • Also stopped enemy squads from patrolling Moglievka in mission #7
