Are you bored or anoyed when you are a squad leader and you have to micro-manage the medic, when you have a lot of other work to do in a battle?
I do. So I created this script to solve the basic problem: a medic which does his job without the order of a squad leader.
If you use this script and someone is injured in your squad he will stop and lay down and wait for the medic who immediately runs to the injured and heal him.
When the innjured is healed they both return to formation.
All this works automatic.
But there are situations in battles when you don't need a running medic so you can turn the automedic OFF in your action menu. And when you want to turn this feature ON again, just activate the automedic ON menu in your action menu.
Or if you (or your players) don't like this script, they can easily turn off permanently.
This script is useful only if the squad leader is the player and the medic is AI. (if the medic is a player, the script will terminate)
Installation / Usage:
This script is contains two files: automedic.sqf and automedicoff.sqf
Put both into your mission folder's "scripts" folder. If there is no scripts folder in your mission folder, create a new folder and name it "scripts" and copy the two files into it.
You can run this script in several way. Eg. you can put this line into init.sqf file:
_dummy = [med1, units (group player)] execVM "scripts\automedic.sqf";But in this case you have to name your medic to "med1".
Or you can just copy this line into your medic's init field:
dummy = [this, units (group player)] execVM "scripts\automedic.sqf";But don't do both. Run the scipt only once!

if you turn it off and quickly on again, the script will run twice, but you can solve it to turn off and wait a minute and then turn it on.
