Description: This Sniper System will immerse the player into a scout/sniper roll. There will be several different elements to this project with the emphasis on Training, Camouflage, and Stalking the Objective. "Ballistics" are a dime-a-dozen. This Mod takes you deeper into the realm of a deadly and mysterious Sniper! A Sniper is a highly trained marksman who operates alone, in a pair, or with a sniper team to maintain close visual contact with the enemy and engage targets from concealed positions or distances exceeding the detection capabilities of enemy personnel. In addition to marksmanship, military snipers are trained in camouflage, field craft, infiltration, special reconnaissance and observation, surveillance and target acquisition. Installation: Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in: 32-Bit - C:\Program Files\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\ 64-Bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\ After extraction it should look like this: Steam\Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\@your_mod_folder_name\addons\ You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this: mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name1\addons\ mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\ mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\ When present place the "userconfig" folder into your game install folder, usually: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3". You may already have "userconfig" folder from other addons and/or mods in which case it is safe to merge the contents from this archive. You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in -mod=@your_mod_folder_name For using multiple mods you would then do so like this: -mod=@mod_name;@mod_name2;@mod_name3;@mod_name4;@mod_name5 Note: You can also use -nosplash to get rid of the splash art and intro videos. And of course you can also enable and disable community made addons and mods through the in-game Options Expansions menu if you do not want to mess with startup parameters! When the above information still does not provide you with enough to learn how to install custom addons and mods you can always ask in our Guide On Installing Mods. To use Targets w/ Data Card, NAME: VQI_TARGET_1 (1-5) Use Included Targets. Put Log Book in Map slot. SniperBuddy: press both ADJUST + COMPASS keys/buttons Main Readout for WIND is Hdg ~ Kts: ie (355* ~ 4kts) 2. Sniper Ghillie: (automatic) Don't Move for X time 3. Build Sniper 'Blind': Don't Move for X time. Option will popup IF conditions are right; ACTION key/button 4. SniperHearing: (automatic); activated AFTER you build your blind/hide. Improves over time IF NOT disturbed 5. SniperSmell: press ADJUST key/button AFTER you build your blind/hide. Improves over time IF NOT disturbed 6. Expert Sniper: Practice & Training! Known issues: Screws up the Text in the Editor for some reason! Why? Notes: Still possible to build your Blind/Hide on concrete Vegetation of the Blind/Hide are lit even though you may build in shade Vegetation & Scents are Mediterranean. Will add other regions later. Need to 'lower' the stealth IF carrying a Launcher; current no penalty Targets over water (Test/Mission) do NOT work with the Sniper Data Card Work-In-Progess. Several BUGS are expected. Nice man I am a full time sniper fanatic as well in the world of Arma and glad to see that someone is making some realistic sniper mods that have real life truth to them like the data card aspect and the Ghillie that was never working like a real Ghillie the hide to great work man keep it up! If you need a hand with testing or ideas message me I would be more than happy to contribute.
Thanks Man! Any and all ideas are welcome. What I'm looking for (if even possible) is real-world data so I know what math to put into this project. Not sure if I can given the engine of the game, so I just kinda guessed right now. I hope I'm close.
