Short description: SDAR re-purposed into a 7.62mm Battle Rifle
Date: 2014-11-03 11:37
Kel-Tec's RFB, a config edit of the Arma 3 SDAR. The RFB is a 7.62mm caliber, bullpup battle rifle released by Kel-Tec (USA) in 2008 and has undergone numerous upgrades since then.
A powerful round with a quick flight time.
Dexterity of the weapon improved to better represent the RL RFB's impressive handling and balance.
Uses slightly altered Rahim firing sound.
20 round, 7.62mm Magazines.
Compatible with most Optics in-game - Hamr, MRCO, SOS, LRPS, ARCO tested.
Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in:
32-Bit - C:\Program Files\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\
64-Bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\
After extraction it should look like this:
You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this:
When present place the "userconfig" folder into your game install folder, usually:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3".
You may already have "userconfig" folder from other addons and/or mods in which case it is safe to merge the contents from this archive.
You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in -mod=@your_mod_folder_name
For using multiple mods you would then do so like this:
You can also use -nosplash to get rid of the splash art and intro videos.
And of course you can also enable and disable community made addons and mods through the in-game Options Expansions menu if you do not want to mess with startup parameters!
When the above information still does not provide you with enough to learn how to install custom addons and mods you can always ask in our Guide On Installing Mods.
Example Mission: Move the er_rfb_example.stratis mission folder into your Arma 3 Profile Folder and run in editor, or export to MP and test with mates.
Please feel free to edit yourselves to improve the Mod. However, please let me know if you take a stab at it so I can learn from your work.

Reskins planned, as soon as is possible.
I would love to get this to work with Rifle Grenades but as yet, no joy. If anyone wants to help with this, let me know.

- Fixed IR Pointer pop-up issue. Laser still emits from just below barrel, but is correctly aligned for ballistics.
- Removed Silencer compatibility, as originally intended.
- Reconfigured to provide Iron-sight version or Optics-mounted version - classnames er_rfb_iron and er_rfb_optic
- IR Pointer and Silencers work but do not show on the model. Using the IR Pointer causes a popup error.
- Magazine altered so that last two rounds are tracer.
