![]() Speed Of Sound PurebyBigpickle Description: Hi and welcome to Speed Of Sound Pure, the definative installment of Speed Of Sound. What is speed of sound pure? Speed of Sound Pure is how I envision the sound in arma 3 should be. Its been one very long evolving project that started back in Arma2 and has grown in size and scope reaching what I feel is the penultimate version of Speed of Sound. How often will it be updated? Hopefully not all that often, there will still be bugs no doubt somewhere but I think I've squashed the major ones but running -nologs on clients and servers ensures smoother play incase errors do crop up. If your a server host you will also need the speed of sound pure server key, although this mod is Client side only, no requirment for the server to run the mod as well. Installation: Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in: 32-Bit - C:\Program Files\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\ 64-Bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\ After extraction it should look like this: Steam\Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\@your_mod_folder_name\addons\ You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this: mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name1\addons\ mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\ mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\ When present place the "userconfig" folder into your game install folder, usually: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3". You may already have "userconfig" folder from other addons and/or mods in which case it is safe to merge the contents from this archive. You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in -mod=@your_mod_folder_name For using multiple mods you would then do so like this: -mod=@mod_name;@mod_name2;@mod_name3;@mod_name4;@mod_name5 Note: You can also use -nosplash to get rid of the splash art and intro videos. And of course you can also enable and disable community made addons and mods through the in-game Options Expansions menu if you do not want to mess with startup parameters! When the above information still does not provide you with enough to learn how to install custom addons and mods you can always ask in our Guide On Installing Mods. nice work !
Welcome back S.O.S!!!! good job
There is something seriously wrong with this. I have no other mods installed except the latest version cba. And this sounds awful. Is the "optional" folder supposed to be empty? Is the unpacked folder supposed to be 6.92 gigs? It sounds like its missing data. All the guns sound basically the same. And very quiet. Thoughts?
EDIT - Apparently people on the BIS forum are having the same issues and the creator has not commented at all about any of it. :(
I'm so looking forward to test it. Thank you man!
very nice sound atlast i download it similar to arma 2 sounds. i will used this s.o.s. pure. i will set aside the jsrs2
Great sounds Thank you! only thing is can we turn down the flies noise around bodies? Kinda creepy?
I don't know what to make out of this.... These are not weapon sounds. These are sound echoes or distant fire. If you have ever shot a rifle you will understand. Nice effort and the quality is nice but the choice of sound of guns is really bad. I belive that if you change them and keep the vehicle and explotions you will have one of the best mods out there. Untill then I am sorry...
Great sounds. Very immersive. Thanks!
this mod is good. but not good in campaign and some missions it's cause the arma III crashed
Sound of bullet fly by is f**kin too loud! Vanilla game devs make it too loud too, does anybody ever heard this sound in real? In vanilla is some clicling sound and here sound from BF 3 i think, but its sound like someone shooting to us from some .50 cal and he is isung just nato caliber or 7mm! Used JSRS, THIS mod and i've got to say, non of those mod is good. I heard in real sound of fly by round and this is 100% more silence "whizz" sound, not like in Arma series, JEEZ who make sound design for this game!?
Hotfix 2 is up soon. Hope you enjoy it, Lots of fixes on board.
vlad_8011 - I heard them alot in real life and they are loud. Can you record me some bulletfly sounds?
I wanna use this badly but them stupid instant swamps of flies noises on the dead makes it unplayable. How could you spoil this mod with overwhelming very loud flies buzzing over every single dead body before he's even hit the floor lol. I made a capture and hold mission and can just hear BUZZZZZZZ!!!!! to make it worse im on a snow map xD plz tell me how to delete them all together. didn't really like JSRS2 too much.
this mod is brilliant though. Pure excellence. Makes the game feel well more serious and real. Medium-large scale warfare is simply spectacular. Love the thuds and reverbs.
I have very much errors and warnings. Also sound if hits for the distance are too quiet - i javelin missle hit the target at 700 meters i hear almost nothing. I prefer JSRS 2.2 or JSRS 3 but in thos mods sounds of fly-by bullets are definetly too loud. So i can say that SOS is very good, but have to mouch warnings messages and distance explosions, hits are too quiet
After BIS Arma 3 update 1.38 is installed, I am getting an error message in SOS. Seems that BIS got rid of a file that is referenced in your SOS package that needs to be updated. Oh well, I'll go back to plain vanilla sound until you can fix this.
