Town Ops

Description:
Town Ops is geographically focussed. So you always know where the action is and where to go next. You'll see a big white marker on your map. That's where to go. And you'll see towering pillars of smoke. Those are your objectives.

In Town Ops your mission is to find the smoking wreck of a vehicle containing stolen tech and then hold the area. Your enemies are doing the same. But as you search you can claim smoking wrecks that are not your objective. Claiming more smoking wrekcs than your enenmy causes your enemy to bleed tickets.

The first team to zero loses.

Town Ops is a fresh take on addressing the problems caused by Arma3's wonderful and epic scale. Usually it's sometimes hard to find the action or get up to speed with what's happening. In Town Opsyou are never far from where the action is.

Tactics and logistics are crucial. Armour doesn't respawn. Neither do air assets. So you need to use them wisely.

Transport is key. Try to run everywhere and you'll be left way behind by the other team and probably yours. To this end you'll find certain cars and trucks will spawn when you die to enable you to get back into the battle fast. But not too fast or you'll just die. There's a mobile HQ but it doesn't respawn.

I recommend switching player info on map off. Then navigating and recce become even more crucial.

  • Installation:
    Extract the .pbo file(s) to your Steam/SteamApps/common/ArmA 3/MPMissions folder.

    The download links to Steam Workshop. Subscribe there and it will be downloaded to your game.


    Known issues:
    Biggest issue is that it takes a while to start up. that's because the game chooses a new area every time. And it needs to find flat ground which arma 3 does quite slowly. Im trying to optimise this. But be patient, you might find it's worth it. Often it starts quickly.
    Winning brings up an error. that will be fixed.
