Description: At the end of civil war in Altis, the Jerusalem Cease Fire of 2030 mandated the creation of an armed defence force to secure the sovereign territory of The Republic of Altis and Stratis, with that act Altis Armed Forces was born. But it was limited to have less then 1000 soldiers. In recent years, the on-going counter-insurgency operations in North-Western Altis resulted with worn down AAF military strength and with WW3 on the doorstep, the need to deal with insurgency and to increase overall security was a top priority. With active embargo on increasing the military strength. Altis government decided to form a Special Police Unit. The newly formed SPU consists only from current serving Altis police officers, who volunteered to server in area of counter-insurgency operation with hope of bringing order to chaos. New needed equipment for SPU was imported into country and the new 100+ strong SPU was formed. Wearing distinctive blue uniforms, SPU saw their first action in defence of Oreokastro. Features: Police Unit to boost defence of Altis from evil West and East Installation: To install the Altis Special Police Unit you should use modfolders to keep it seperate from the official game content to prevent issues. With Arma 3 you can use different ways to set up your modfolders to use custom content you have downloaded. Hey man, Love this mod, I was wondering, if you might make either a new group (either part of this mod or standalone) of a new "evil" Rogue State group calling themselves the "Initiative", that have a cell on Altis that puts them in conflict with the SPU

Anyhow, this mod is great, the quality of the units make them look like they were already part of the game
I greatly enjoy this mod for the skins, and for the atmosphere the units give to operations regarding three-pronged diplomatic conditions: such as UN as BLUFOR, SPU/AAF as INDEP, militia as OPFOR, etc. With Trident it makes some missions very realistic, or at least dynamic. The units also work well as occupying forces, making me think of Serbian troops during the Balkan conflict.
Cons:
Not many groups--the only available editor group is clearly a WIP and it is dissatisfying that I can only spawn a huge group as opposed to a sentry group, a four-man patrol, a fire team, etc.
No vehicles, no static--I can guess these are coming in an update, I can presume that an offroad will soon be available. But you know what they say about assumptions.
Lots of blue-tinted urbanish soldiers, but only two woodland camos? Again, I presume more is in the work.

Thank you "Hate" for using my addon. First of all my SPU was made with having in mind Special Police Unit (org. PJP) of Yugoslavia during the Kosovo crisis. The brave "PJP" waged war against KLA (org. UČK) terrorists, now lot's of those KLA "freedom fighters" are now fighting on ISIS side in Syria/Iraq, but that's not important.
1st. Yes Groups are WIP, I will learn how to and make more groups.
2nd. Since SPU is a police not a military unit, there will not be any vehicles or 4x4 offroads, because SPU, if needed, was meant to work in coordination with military vehicles. But I will retexture one Strider with HMG into black to act as a low level support vehicle, most police units in the world now have some kind of IFV/APC. Thanks for that idea.
3rd. As for blue tinted uniforms, well SPU was meant to work primary in urban environment, bare in mind that these are low cost police units not USA SWAT, so their equipment is not the best money can buy. Now Altis is mostly tropical-ish island, so I made a few woodland to act as a recon unit, I will make more groups of them. But AAF army should take role in more open environment.

Could we see a BTR 70 to replace the Madrid as it would fit the theme quite well?
BTR-70 in 2035, nah. It's too old, maybe BTR-90 could fit better, but there's no BTR-90 for A3. And I like Marid, it fits nicely.
Great mod, however it would be nice to see some more varients of the CQB units (especially a medic) :) The RHS config is godly!
New version is just "behind the corner" and it has more woodland and CQB units, plus few extra things
Hey man, great mod, love everything about it but i was wondering if you could add an SPU helicopter?
AAF has two AW159 Wildcat helicopters, so for now there's no need for SPU only helicopters. Maybe in future.
