Multiple backpack-transportable items that can be deployed with ace self-interaction. Requires ace.

A laser designator mounted on a tripod, that can be deployed like an ACE spotting scope. Has data link and GPS enabled.
Works great with laser designated cruise missiles.

A one-man tent with reversible rainfly, choose between sand-out or green-out when you deploy. You can store items in it, sit inside it, and close the rainfly for some privacy.
Acts as a respawn point for the player who places it.

A catch-all machine gun tripod, based off the M122. Deploy it, and get in it as the gunner while using a compatible weapon, and you can shoot from it. Use WASDQE(default) to adjust the traverse/elevation mechanism in mils.
Free-gun(mouse) aiming sadly not supported. Works with all ACE barrel change compatible primary weapons, and has internal whitelist support for weapons that don't have it. A CBA setting enables support for all primary weapons. Switching to handgun/binoculars/etc is not supported, but the tripod will keep its adjustments if you get out and back in.

To install vurtual's backpack gear you should use modfolders to keep it seperate from the official game content to prevent issues.
With Arma 3 you can use different ways to set up your modfolders to use custom content you have downloaded.

Included files:

Possible fix for the tripod in multiplayer.

Disabled autocenter on the tripod model.
Added custom carry/rotate actions to the tripod, so it can be easily placed in confined areas/when prone.
Small internal tweaks.

Fixed slight misalignment issue with gunner animation(the center of the traverse should now exactly match the compass heading you had when you ACE carried it last).
Adjusted origins of the tripod, and made it spawn closer initially.
Disabled the tripod taking damage itself, as placing it weirdly could destroy it.
Fixed the player not taking damage from explosions.
Fixed lasers being blocked by the tripod.

Fixed compatability with my vehicle base, should no longer override its preinit and cause error messages.
Added classnames from 3CB BAF Weapons to the manual whitelist.
Added an "AG Bag" backpack that can carry the tripod and a spare barrel, using the arma 2 static weapon tripod bag model.

Fixed classname filtering for tripod guns not using "isKindOf" correctly.
Added classnames for Faces of War machine guns to the manual whitelist.
Classname list is now a variable stored at vurtual_tripod_filter_classes, allowing for extension via mission/mod script.
Fixed the traversing wheel of the tripod to be 100 mils total instead of 50.

Fixed cfgpatches.

Moved backpack tent to this mod.
Added M122 machine gun tripod.

Added a UAV driver AI to the designator, so it will stay on when unmanned. (this took a lot of finagling to work right)
If you can't get into a laser designator(enemy side) or if it won't stay on(empty), pick it up and place it again.
Added a UI icon, preventing the error message.

Small improvements to the model, addition of a visible thermal unit. Adjusted the magnification and reticle to be scaled correctly.
