The Tuskagee Airmen were the first African American pilots in the US Military. During this time in history there was mass segregation in the US amongst other things. So for the Tuskagee Airmen to exist and succeed in such a manner was met with lots of resistance, not only from the civilian population but also from their brothers in arms. The Tuskagee Airmen were born of a federal program instituted by President Roosevelt to train African Americans in the Army Air Corps. The program trained around 1,000 pilots as well as nearly 14,000 navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, control tower operators and other misc. support staff. They also gained their nickname from their origin location of training, Tuskagee Alabama. They also earned another nickname, "Redtails", earned from their iconic identification paint on their aircraft.
What's in this mod?
This mod currently includes one plane that took way too long for me to do, as I had originally planned to release this mod during Black History Month as a nod to it. However getting the plane to a degree of completeness that I wanted to took much longer than I expected as I made this texture to a much more complete degree than my other works. This includes nose art, plane names, and kill markers. I plan on updating this mod as I find time with a few other planes I've picked out that I planned to include in this initial release. The following planes are currently included
- Plane 10 "Duchess Arlene"
As always, enjoy the mod. As an extra note, you'll probably notice that this plane has a bit more detail than my other stuff. I spent more time on this mod than the other planes and I plan on carrying over the detail to my other planes at another date. Enjoy and have a great day everyone!
To install Tuskagee Airmen you should use modfolders to keep it seperate from the official game content to prevent issues.
With Arma 3 you can use different ways to set up your modfolders to use custom content you have downloaded.
