31st Normandy Mod - ATI users patch 2 31st Normandy Mod - patch 1 31st Normandy Mod - patch 2 Included files: Media: Video by wolfbiscuits: Key: This is a signed addon, server admins can download the key from here Change log: -All swastikas removed for our German friends so they can play. Notes: This is a BETA release. The idea here and intention is to receive relative constructive input/feedback from the community. Please use the appropriate forum links for feedback. - Infantry use Vilas weapons - Many custon sounds included for vehicles and weapons, sound mods are not compatible - PLEASE REMOVE ANY OLDER VILAS PACKS AS THEY HAVE BEEN HEAVILY MODIFIED!!! - I will not include the "ww2warfare" mission until after its final testing on the 31stwc.com server today so look for an additional download to be posted later. - Some vehicles feature ramps or hinged doors that open, look for your action menus. - Most aircraft do not contain cockpits - They will be added in future releases. - Two tanks have funny road wheel axis's - That will be adjust later. - Keep your speakers turned down initially, especially if you are using SUB's as this mod contains some very loud audible sound, it may rumble your house or neighbors! Credits & Special Thanks: First and foremost, the ArmA community. This release would have not been possible without the endless hours of contribution from everyone. wow, man, a really great mod for a beta
Good stuff, But I seriously don't understand why you removed the swastikas. The Germans have to get past their history and can't be offended every time they see a Nazi symbol.
ya man you shoulda kept the swastikas
A really great mod, nice units and guns sounds are really great!
Looking forward to the final version!
THIS LOOKS SO AWESOME! I am going to download this very very soon. I understand why you removed the swastikas, it kind of punches the Germans in the face and blames them for what happend in that war. Sure, the German vehicles would look more realistic with a Swastika, but a lot of people would be offended, and peoples emotions are more important then a simple game.
Why are their no Chezch hedgehogs but otherwise great mod!
By the way, it is forbiden by law to show the Swastika in germany so mayby that's why they removed it.
Exactly vaporblast. Thank you!
My gradfather died as a Nazi in WW2 defending Germany. Even though Hitler plunged the world into war and was a evil person. The Nazi soldiers who fought for Germany still deserve some respect. (the good ones do atleast!):cheers
there are no Swastikas... lol what a shame.
Not to be rude, but I wouldn't be proud saying you grandfather was a nazi. There was a huge difference being a nazi and a german during WWII. Not all Germans were Nazi's, which was a political affiliation. Many opposed to them, but adhered to the regime due to dire consequences for anyone who was against them, yes even their own people. Big difference between a german soldier in say the wermacht and a soldier in say the SS. German soldiers fought for their country, while a nazi fought for hitler and his political beliefs. Not to turn this into a political debate. Unless he really was a nazi, then I have no sorrow for him. And I have german heritage.
The swastika law is here too!
leopard you mean in America? because in Canada it isnt really liked but its not against the law
Swastikas are also banned in Finland, probably in other countries too, so, not only in Germany.
Hey Section8,
At least make a proper comparison. I wouldn't compare a regular infantryman to a special operations operative. The same way, I wouldn't compare a regular Wehrmacht Soldier to an SS trooper who was bred, raised, and brainwashed to protect a corrupt regime.
The Nazi government as a whole was not bad. It was the people behind it that gave it a bad rep. So to say that Nazi's are bad is incorrect. Just as an example:
Americans believe that Communism is the anti-christ, yet would you call Chinese people evil? A regime is a regime, it doesn't determine an individuals morality.
The reason the law is in existence is because of the Allies occupation and wanting to squelch any type of rebellion or uprising from existing Nazi regime sympathizers. It's an old law that really needs to be removed. Germans shouldn't be afraid or ashamed of their history, they need to be aware and not repeat history.
