Do you have to get the "forward" key pressed or there is now a throttle control in game for the plane ?
No you don't need to keep the keys pressed now. You can just add throttle and leave it alone. At least that's how it seems right now.
I did a test on an F-35 with keyboard only (its hard to test this on my HOTAS) I set the throttle and just left it there. It managed to maintain speed without me having to adjust it all the time. However this is limited to planes only it seems. I tried it with cars and boats and you still have to press and hold the keys.
