Afrenian Army

Afrenian Army is an addon for Arma 2's Isla Duala island. Afrene is a Southern part of island and they cooperate well with US and European Governments. US provided majority of new weapons for Afrene, such as classic M16A2s and M9 Berettas. But Afrene still uses a lot of old stuff - "legacy" from the once big Dualan Republic - such weapons are PKMs and RPG7s and even newer SA-18 Igla anti-air shoulder launchers. US provided Afrene also with couple of crates full of Stinger launchers, intended primarily for defensive roll against much stronger neighbour... Molatia.
Molatia, Northern neighbours, are amassing troops with help of Russia and China. Afrene is counting on help of International troops, but needs to provide security to their towns and patrol border areas. Police units act as "town guardians" while Army is training hard to be able to defend its land with help of US and Euro armies.

Main transportation vehicle for Afrenian Army is the Pinzgauer 710M 4x4. With its brand new 2.7-litre engine its able to achieve great acceleration and reach up to 115 km/h (72mp/h). It can carry up to 9 troops. Its excellent off-road capabilities and affordable price were the key factors in extensive tests done by the Afrenian governement. More about the vehicle can be read here:

IceBreakr is from Slovenia, Europe. He's been active in gaming community since 1997 working on several total conversions and mods. He joined GT Interactive (later acquired by Infogrames) to finish up two titles on Duke3D engine. Later he put his passion to level design on Source engine with Kuma, LLC on titles such as KumaWar and KumaWar 2 and couple other mods. His true passion is now running his own mil-sim team/community and creating open worlds such as Bohemia's ArmA & ArmA 2 engines. This website now features two such projects / islands. Try them, they are FREE and a gift to BIS Community.

You can use following troops:
All soldiers are armed with standard issue assault rifle M16A2 while Officers (NCOs) have extra M203 launchers mounted on them.
AT Soldiers all use RPGs with standard warhead.
Main air defense are SA-18 Iglas and couple of reliable Stinger missiles.
Pinzgauer 710M 4x4 (Army) is their main transportation vehicle.

Police units use M9 Beretta pistols, M1014 Benelli tactical shotguns with slugs and M16A2 rifles when things get hot. Police duties are to protect and serve in towns and to organize constant road patrols.
Pinzgauer 710M 4x4 (Police) is their main transportation vehicle.

As we always recommend use modfolders.

Included .pbo files:

Known issues:
- vehicle floats at the back if both wheels get blown off
- cabin windows don't break properly yet
- rpgs can rip through the back soft cover (feature? heh)
- "Polisie" written backwards on the right side (texture optimization, unable to fix)

Change log:
- added LoBo's (GIR Team) excellent Pinzgauer 710M 4x4 vehicle (soft-top cover)
- tweaked properties, added damage possibilities and made it compatible with A2 (mostly by zGuba & Panda - thank you guys!)
