hi, check these links:

for custom units you can unpbo the arma2 / oa files and then find the textures to use as a template. without any addon editing you can use your new textures in missions with setobjecttexture. for reskinning for an addon, you should search for "hex editing" (hex editor) to change the texture paths of binarized BIS models so you can repack them into your addon.

2. if you have the mlod (unbinarized) version you can open the model in O2 and use the tool>mass texture renaming to point it to the new texture you made. or setobject texture should work. or just edit the existing textures without changing anynames and repack.
