Hey guys, I am fairly new to the Multiplayer mission editing scene, and I am having some major issues with this mission.

For the most part, I can get it to work, but, once I try to get some of the file stuff done, like with the briefing and description.ext, I have issues. Maybe you guys can lend me a hand, and tell me what I am doing wrong.

This is my Description.ext

Now, I am having three distinct issues.

Issue 1: My Player Respawn script is not working. I have everything done I am supposed to. I have the script in the description.ext, as you can see, and I have a marker in game called "respawn_west." Yet, when I get shot dead in game, It decides I am better off dead and refuses to respawn me, or anyone else. Maybe I am just doing something wrong that I did not notice.

Issue 2: My Briefing is not showing up. No tasks, no diary, no notes, nothing. I have the description.ext pointing at briefing.sqf but again, it refuses to acknowledge the briefing's existence. Maybe I just misunderstood the instructions, but to have the tasks and such there would very, very helpful, I may end up releasing this to the public.

Issue 3: This is by far the most concerning. I can't even access my mission to edit, lest I go back to a save state a few hours ago. I get this message every time I load the mission in the editor.
description.ext, line 7 'execVM': '"' encountered instead of '='
I looked all over the internet for a similar problem and I could not find another case. Thing is, Line 7 in the description.ext points at my briefing. Ever since I mad some changes to the briefing, it gives me that message. Before that was when none of the objectives would show up in the tasks.


So, any and all help would be appreciated. I have been working on this for the better part of a day, and would love to play it with some friends of mine. When I did have it working, without respawn mind you, It was very fun. Very action packed, and difficult.


also, any tips say I wanted to add the ability for the squad leader to call in Air Support, like a gunship, or an A-10 without using simple support. As well as a tip to get enemy AI to spawn by trigger and attack a location. I want to get this as good as possible, and the cooler features, the better.

you are using your description.ext as the init.sqf right now. That is what is causing all the problems. I am pretty tired right now. If this isn't solved by tomorrow morning for me then I will help you out.

This fixed my error with the description.ext Thanks.

Respawn is working, and there is a basic briefing. Thanks for the help, now on to the "adding neat features" part of the day.

any tips for what I would like to add?

So my tasks arn't linked to the actual task in game. It shows the proper location on the map, but the task never completes. I am probably doing something wrong there.

Any tips?
