I have a mission where im havign my men exit a helicopter (their GET OUT is synced with the heli's TRANSPORT UNLOAD) and so when these guys are taking fire while getting out, at least a couple guys will get hit, and then suddenly no one else gets out of the heli, and the chopper just sits there. any way to fix this little bugger out?

[edit]
actually quick update turns out just if the helicopter is merely targeted (OPFOR only shoots the heli's as they touch down to unload) then the men cease to get out, regardless if anyones wounded or not. this sucks soo much lol

Have you tried the eject command?

For disembarking troops one needs to use a Transport unload waypoint for the helicopter with unassignvehicle and eject statements in the on activation field. Example for two units on board of the helicopter named alpha1 and alpha2:

unassignvehicle alpha1; alpha1 action ["EJECT", vehicle alpha1]; unassignvehicle alpha2; alpha2 action ["EJECT", vehicle alpha2];

One can also cheat a bit to prevent the helicopter from being targeted and destroyed by the enemy before the squad is disembarked by using the setcaptive statement for the helicopter. In its init field one can put

this setcaptive true

and if the chopper takes off, one can make it targetable by the enemy again by having another setcaptive statement.

Sander

Thanks a bunch Sander the setcaptive bit works pretty good (idk about the eject/unassign code though, because they weren't group together in the first place so idk if that made any difference or not, althought i used it anyway) The problem now is that as my men are engauged around the LZ after the heli's taken off, the heli is tasked to pick up another squad and drop them off at the same destination. but now with all this shooting going on, im back to square one, for maybe the first couple guys will get out, but the rest stay in the chopper, even though its not being directly targeted (im assuming its strays shots that are meant for the first squad thats enguaging)andd yes i used the unnasignvehicle/eject code for both "alpha1" and "alpha2"'s transport unload waypoints (which are synced to the squad's "GET OUT" waypoints) so im pretty damn confused at this point haha but at least i got 1/2 of it to work so far

ok so im replaying this over and over and now i also have the issue of the second squad starting to target the enemies before all of them are even out of the chopper, which i think might actually be th reason behind why they wont all get out but im not too sure (btw the squads have a waypoint after "GET OUT" so i dont know if that makes a difference or not

also, is there any way to get the leader to stop commanding to "heal at that chopper"? i feel like that might have something to do with it (happends regardless if i have the first aid modules on or off)

If you have a name for each squad, you could use the the WP onAct line to issue an eject command, something along the lines:
{_x forEach units groupname} do action "eject"; (can't remember the exat syntax from the top of my head).
This will force every unit in the chopper belonging to groupname to eject when the WP is activated, so you may want to use a script and set a delay in there to avoid the soldiers jumping out at an unhealthy hieght/speed, or use a WP timer...

Edit: And btw, if you remove the synch between the heli's TR UNLOAD and the squads' getout the heli usually just spits them out when applicable.

thanks for advice, i will give it a try and feedback soon. Well perhaps it will take a while as i'm pretty busy at work. Hey off topic: Has anybody found some "full scale"-war sp missions? You know tons of tanks an a lot of infantry on the map.
