I want to play Ace 2 with arma 2 I start Ace 2 in Alpinestars Arma II Launcher with all the mods needed enabled. I get a error saying that "addon ace_anims requires version 1.5 of application". So I have the steam version and I cant find the patch to fix this problem. All patches I find are for box versions. Also I have the latest version of the arma 2 launcher.

If you use OA actively with ACE2 you will have to use ACE2 for OA which is version 1.5 and only available on the Six Updater and Yoma addon sync (see this: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=11150)
Do not use ACE1.3 stable with OA!! That one is for Arma 2 only!

** Topic moved to OA/Addons and Mods: Complete / Modules
** Topic renamed, now we have an OA ACE2 topic!

Ok. So when I installed OA. It installed over the ARMA2 that I had installed. Need to know if that was a bad thing, because when I use the six updater it doesn't update anymore. It reads that ACE is current at 380 and I have 377... so on so fourth for the rest of the updates but when I hit execute it doesn't update it just rolls in to the game. What I am I doing wrong ro am I going to have to uninstall and then put them in different folders and make OA stand alone? I am using the Preset "A.C.E. Mod ( Vanilla A2)" Should I be using something else...?

ACE's official documentation is a WAGN, not a wiki. Located at http://ace.dev-heaven.net/Home.

The FreeACE wiki currently only supports the versions of ACE for A2, not the new OA-only stuff.

Okay i'm using Addonsync. I have in the Modset "@ace", "@acex", "@acex_sm", "@cba", "@cba_oa", "expansion" and expansion\beta". What load order do I need? Everything I've tried I've hit a "wait for host" screen after the main splashscreen and haven't been able to play. BTW I'm not interested in online play at all, just the singleplayer and editing aspect.

quick question.
Game: OA

im trying to add dummy magazines to rucks iv looked at the wiki page and have found that

ACE_Ruckmagazines = ["ACE_Bandage_PDM",15]
and

[_unit,"ACE_Bandage_PDM",15] call ACE_Sys_Ruck_AddRuckMagazine

dosnt work iv tryed doing this in the editor on the unit itself and threw scripts (.sqs and .sqf) neither of these work. basicly all i want is to be able to give medics a ruck full of medical supplys and i cannot get the code to work. am i doing this wrong somehow?

That ( PDM magazines ) are for ACE1. Which was for ArmA1, now two games back. When I rewrote the gear/ruck system for A2 we switched to a whole new method for gear management that eliminated PDM/EUM magazines.

For ACE2, you need to refer to the current documents on the ACE wagn system. For OA, I have no idea what they will do - they could redesign to use the new built-in rucks ( with enhancements ) or try to run their own system in parallel.

Sorry for the vague answers - I'm not currently using ACE for OA.

I am fear.

gotcha no wonder it wasnt working. as of now its the exact same thing as arma2. alot of people i know like the ACE ruck system alot better then the build in OA backpack system. cant wait to see what changes are coming. i wana see a medical update so all the medical supplys are used instead of just 3 but thats just me. thanks for the info

EDIT:

iv searched wagn for a few hours now. cant find what im looking for. seems there isnt really much info on there. i must be missing something. search shows no results. evil its the exact same system as ACE2 for ARMA2 so whatever code it was for arma2 it is for operation arrowhead... at least for now that is

for future referance for anyone who cant find it.

this setvariable ["ACE_RuckMagContents",[["ACE_Bandage",24], ["ACE_Morphine",24], ["ACE_Epinephrine",24]]];

Actually - it is safer to use the API functions I wrote for the ruck system to pack/unpack items vs. doing setVariable calls. That way if the code underneath changes you are protected - which could very well happen as ACE continues to evolve.

I know the wagn system is difficult for some to use, one reason I brought up a wiki - http://freeace.wikkii.com/ as an alternate source of information. But you have to realise that I'm doing that on my own when I can, so wagn is what I recommend to new people as first place to look.

I do try to keep opinion separate from facts, but note well that I am a former member of ACE. Meaning that my connections with the team are limited by mutual agreement and all that entails.

Now that you've been given due warning.... =-O

I would not count on the medical system ever being "finished', it's been over a year now and most items listed have remained inert in-game. ACE would need additional coders dedicated to just that task in order to get more of it working right.

I am fear.

evil i love you for the wiki. i can get myself around wagn but its alot tougher then wiki. and i will definitly look into the API instead.

about the medical system... ya i dont ever expect it to be done its great the way it is right now but i would just love to see what it could be. everything about ace is awsome i cant see myself playing ARMA without it. Even though you are a former member id like that thank you for your work. ACE is awsome.
