Herro I have a problem with my Spocket version of Arma II it do not want to update version 1.05 to 1.07 I have tried everything now and got it freshly installed without anything changed, and I have the latest Direct X as well. I still get the message:

'Arma 2 is not installed on your computer or installation is corrupted.'

I wonder what I do wrong the automatic installer refuse to find my game.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you happen to apply the ARMA2OA_Patch_152.exe to your :OA install prior to this? If so, applying the 1.07 revision would be redundant and might be causing the conflict as its content is included in the :OA patch.

ARMA2OA_Patch_150_to_152_readme.txt:
NOTE: This patch will also update your ARMA 2 1.05 to 1.07 if necessary.

No I didn't it was a fresh upload, and the Arma II refused to get updated so I bought Arma II Combat Operations to get better tuned up without any more problems. Thanks for trying to help out mate, I hope this version will work better for me. *THUMBS UP*

This is how I fixed it:
1. Go to your arma 2 root folder
2.right click on the arma exe
3.re-name the exe without the .exe on the end

Fixed my Install problem

Has anyone resolved this issue? I've recently bought Arma2: Combined Ops through Sprocket and am having this problem now. Can't patch the Arma2 game to 1.07, and patching Op Arrowhead to 1.57 does NOT update Arma2 fo me. I've tried renaming the arma2 exe file, but that didn't help.
(sorry to bring this old topic back to life)

Welcome to Armaholic :-)

When did you buy the game from Sprocket?
Did you run Arma 2 standalone (starting with the Arma2.exe) to check what version of Arma 2 you got from Sprocket? Maybe it is already 1.08 or a different version.

Let us know your Arma 2 version so we can try to help you further.

Thanks for the welcome, Foxhound.
I bought the game this last weekend (23 January). I've run Arma 2 standalone (it's the only way I can access it since it needs to be 1.07 to work "combined" from OA) and it's sitting at 1.05. Loving the game so far, but this patching thing is a pain in terms of getting mods and things to work.

Just to be sure, you do get this error as well when trying to patch?

'Arma 2 is not installed on your computer or installation is corrupted.'

Yes, that is the exact error message. Puzzling, since I can play the game just fine.

Was the (ArmA II:CO) installers default file/folder locations used or did you opt for a user-defined location?

(Registry Editor...Use at own risk)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Bohemia Interactive Studio/ArmA 2/main <Right-click, then Modify will allow you to check the initial installations location value.

I just used standard default locations. For me, the two file paths go like this:
Arma2 --> c:/Program Files/Bohemia Interactive Studio/ArmA 2/
OA --> c:/Program Files/Bohemia Interactive Studio/ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead/

To create an CO install when installing OA the default install directory is the Arma 2 folder (when present).
You can create a CO install by installing the games in different folders but than you need some workarounds to be able to merge them which is not worth the hassle if you ask me.

Have you run the Arma 2 game at least 1 time before trying to install OA on top of it?

Yes, I ran Arma2 a few times prior to installing OA. Are you saying I should have installed it in the same directory as Arma2? I could try that, I guess. I'm not sure how it would resolve the "Arma2 is not installed" issue, but I'm ready to try anything right now.
