Yeah, I can remember that too. Must have been in one of the first reports about Arma II in the GC.

I understand heatseeker though.......making 10 or 15 KM of viewdistance isnt what counts.
They have to make it work.
In Arma we have 10Km viewdistance but I doubt wether there is anyone able to play MP with it.
I dont even feel the need for it, but cant they use their resources better than for 15 KM viewdistance most missionmakers wont use anyway?
Ok, lets say now by default we can get 5 KM viewdistance now in a MP game. That would be good.......but.......what have we actually gained? More further sight? Well thats great. Now lets hope the AI attacks us from further away too. :)

You know things like that :)

I wasnt sure if it was 10 or 15 km vd, i know i read something about them having it running smooth on a c2d with some 8800 card model. I guess flying will be more fun and the visibility will be more realistic, imagine an environment 4 x sahrani with 15 km vd, awsome! On the other hand Sahrani already takes a while to load..

But i must say that i hope they focus not only in increasing the scale but improving gameplay and realism too, i want a tank that rolls on its tracks properly and a more realistic damage model, these are small examples..

BIS have given me YEARS of great entertainment wiht OFP, VBS and recently with ArmA.

I will buy ArmA II even if its just to show my support for them.

I wont comment anymore as it would just be speculation, things change in this community so fast :)

And even if they could play Arma in MP with 10KM\15KM more likley missions will not be setup to do it lol. Even with Arma it's pizzing me off as it can be a real pain with the 107 and all you see if fog.

Yeah, I actually toned down a few of my graphics options so I could boost my view distance. I use the M107 a lot as its a great sniper weapon for long ranges. I'm not too bothered if the graphics aren't a huge step forward...as most peoples computers struggle to play ArmA on high settings anyway...and I have yet to see someone who can run ArmA on full settings! Even my rig, which is pretty high spec...struggles a lot when I crank everything to full.

I look forward to ArmAII, but I hope that it is kept in development for long enough to iron out most of the bugs. If ArmA II is a big success Ubi will be getting worried lol, as it will be taking away their GR players (like me!).

All I can write sofar about ArmA2 has been said in a few Posts back on page3.

The thing is I´ve seen the game running on the GC. I could look at a 15km distance and those guys did´nt have a better Hardware of what you can buy today. Like I´ve written...it´s a way different engine. So who knows till it´s out to be bought ;) Maybe Marek will let us know more in the near future

Well, I'm no that happy. Never liked name Armed Assault, but now its Armed Assault 2. I guess that when I hear ArmA 2 i'm just scared that game will be buggy as current ArmA, many people who bought game at a day 1 felt that they are playing "beta" version. But still i will buy it, as soon as it gets released. :D

Arma 2 is said to be the working title as you can read in the official press release.
So, it can change (probably on a publishers demand).

It has already been mentioned that ArmA wasn't as good as BIS would like and was a bigger project than initially thought. Therefore, as work on the game has obviously been underway for quite some time now (judging on the screens) I should think ArmA2 should be an absolute corker...BIS can quite clearly see the flaws of ArmA and will therefore build on it. Can't wait for more information personally!

P.S - like my new sig?? :D

I think them releasing ArmA 2 in 2008 is a huge kick in the teeth. ArmA 1 could be one of the best games of all time if they just focused all of their resources on fixing bugs and delivering the product they said they were.
