Hey everyone...

I want to transport marines from the LHD to a forward position but the problem is that I cannot get them to walk on the deck. now I have them level on the deck with a script so thats no problem. the problem is that they wont follow any waypoints or get in my chopper. In fact they are more than happy to walk overboard (funny the first five times but its aanoying now0. So has anyone encountered this problem or can you suggest somewhere to look other than the newbie FAQ. I am not overly familiar with scripting, just the bare few so far.

Thanks in advance for any and every reply.

p.s. is there a downloadable PDF of scripting commands so I can print one? exiting the game to search, copy and paste each one is time consuming.

i dont think theres a way to make them be able to move on deck. it is quite annoying. are the marines part of your squad?

Hey marine commando and welcome to Armaholic :-)

You can get AI moving on the LHD deck with the use of triggers and markers.

For Example:

man1 : AI
trg01: 2mX2m : Anyone : Present : Repeatedly : man1 in thisList : man 1 doMove mkr2
mkr1
trg02: 2mX2m : Anyone : Present : Repeatedly : man1 in thisList : man 1 doMove mkr1
mkr2

Put man1 and mkr1 in trg01 and Put mkr2 in trg02

man1 will walk up and down the deck between the triggers, take care not to put them near the edge of the deck and other objects in the triggers stop them working - beware overhanging helicopter blades etc.

You can learn more how BIS did it by opening the "missions.pbo" from the ArmA2 first campaign mission.

The marines are not part of my squad. I intend to be just a chopper pilot who ferries them into and out of combat, although I intend to make one soldier in each squad playable. Thank you for replying.

From the info you given me, I must be interpreting it wrongly.
Does 2X2 determine the axis of the trigger?
Does "man1 in thislist" go in the condition box?
Does "man1 doMove mkr2" go in On Activation box?

I dont mean to seem stupid but I am still learning the coding and finding it tough.

this moveincargo >name of your heli here<
they will start in your chopper and then you will be able to transport them (:
