Looked everywhere and I can't seem to find an answer. Concerning the Temp SF pack by ardvarkdb, I'm trying to determine if this addon has a weapons config or not. Placing them in the editor results with no load-outs for the units.

They do not have loadouts because they are made for online play and for mission editors that want to give them custom loadouts. At least that is the conclusion I came to a while ago. Maybe I could get a hold of the author and do weapon configs once I learn how.

When asking questions about a specific addon why do people always insist in not add the link to said addon? Really..... am starting to doubt my own sanity.

Is that the addon you are asking about?

Nope. That is the link to the TF86 Seal Pack. The TF86 SF Temp pack is a totally different addon.

@Sup3r6f0ur

I guess that makes sense.

I would submit the file to the download section but the creater does not want it spread around unless he gives permission. I'm going to work on contacting him to see if he wants Armaholic to host the download for it. (I originaly got it from a Youtube Video made by his clan).

The addon is advertised for download in his signature in the BI forums.

The readme file says not to distribute without his concent. Ill double check just to make sure its ok then I will submit. I'm using it in my campaign anyways so it needs to be done.

Right, do not distribute means that it is not authorized for download anywhere other than where he is hosting it from. If you can't reach him on the BI forums, try the DAGR website where they play. Also, do not under any circumstances, make any alterations, to his work unless you have his explicit permission. Now that that's out of the way, what exactly are you basing your load-out kits on? I ask because you aren't in the military.

These units were not posted on any sites for a couple reasons, including the fact they were planned to be temporary (hence the name). They turned into being more permanent than expected, but it was decided between the co-author and myself not to put a thread up on the BI Forums or have them hosted anywhere else. I eventually put the link in my BI Forum for those interested in using them, but did not want a thread dedicated to the units. There was no weapon config included with these units. They were only used in MP where we would select our kit at the beginning of each mission, so we saw no need to go through and add weapons to all the units.

I am working on an update to these that adds some new features and will likely release them publicly (with weapons), unlike the current pack.

Thanks
Ardvarkdb

@Ardvarkdb, I was just about send you a PM on the BIS Forums when I saw this, thanks for the reply. Could you be nice enough to make 2 sections ("TF 86 SF MP" and "TF 86 SF SP" or somthing on those lines) for this, one with weapons and one unarmed. I like the unarmed features for making online missions (I belive these units are some of the best out there, at least up there with the TF86 SEAL's and Dave Garrys Rangers.) Good luck and thank you.

It won't be a major overhaul by any means. I basically became obsessed with hidden selections and what you could do with them, so I am experimenting with how I can create a lot of unique units without having 1000000 models. I also added a few other details, such as some slightly 3d pockets, crye knee pads, jackets and some other stuff. I have started on new units that are a major overhaul, but I had a lot of stuff that Safetycatch and I had made for the temp units that never got included. Part of the reason for the update is so that most of that stuff didn't go to waste. Overall, they are more of a testbed for new units like the TSF I have been working on. Unfortunately I don't have anything to show because I always forget to turn fraps on. The TSF and the new US temp pack units are getting closer to being done, but when I have time to finish them changes on a daily basis, so sooner rather than later is the best estimate I can give.

Awesome, thanks for the info ardvarkdb. Your units are by far the best in ArmA so please keep up the outstanding work. Can't wait for the release. :)

I don't mean to be impatient, I just wanted to know if the units are still WIP?

The update to the temp pack was stopped a while ago. I had created a modified base model with 3d pockets and knee pads, but newer things have come along that quality wise are much better than the old arma 1 models I had been using for the temp sf, even with adding 3d pockets, etc. While not as all encompassing as the old TF86 Navy SEAL pack in terms of camo options (there will likely only be AOR1, AOR2 and maybe Multicam), the new Navy SEALs 2.0 pack is still being worked on but I have no estimate as to when it will be finished.
