Hi all *BYE*

I want to inform you guys that I'm working on a Assault Russian soldier, inspired by the one seen in Battlefield 3 multiplayer.

After I played that game so many times, I thought I had to bring something like that character into the ArmA world.

Some first WIP screenshots will come, I hope soon.

Added 19 hours 57 minutes later:

The model is nearly finished, it needs some minor adjustments and then I can go through all the textures.
Some screenshots of the untextured model will come when the model will be done.

So far, this is the model untextured (I just added some colors to let you see the face with the balaclava)
I used Johnny's Special Forces template (thanks mate, I'm going to give you credits of course).
I then created the hood, the balaclava (sort of, I may work more on it :-D ) and the LPBP on the back of the helmet (Low Profile Battery Pack) with the cable.

I also edited the sleeves a bit to represent the russian gorka suit, you can see the wrist part which is bigger, that's a effects given by an elastic lace that tightens the wrist.
You can see it in my first post.

The model, I feel it needs to be adjusted but now I'm going into the texturing part, as its the first time I'll use the UV mapping, so I'm still learning it (it seems not too difficult though ;-) )

And then the next part will be learning how to do materials files, the rvmats.

(What the heck, sorry for large image)

A bit hard to tell from the untextured model but I think the arms and feet are way too thick, esp. when seen from the side and compared with the original picture.

Hey W0lle thanks for the advice. So far, I worked more on the accessories and stuff. Now I can redefine everything.
Yes, indeed the arms look thick compared to the picture. I'll try to adjust them (if my beginner's skills will let me do so :-D )

I didn't think to change the boots but now that you make me think that, I'll try to adjust them.
But now I'm a bit confused because I'm learning the UV Mapping process and the unwrap thing, so I have a bit of confusion. :-[

I'll do my best.

By the way I'm following this guide by Mondkalb, kudos to him for this detailed step by step one.

This is just a test with the textures I'm putting togheter

And can anyone explain me why the hell they look so blurred while when I edit them they look this way? :

Can it be because it's only the body_co.paa and I still don't have smdi and others?

I need help :-(

Added 1 hour 46 minutes later:

By the way I'm gonna continue to make all the textures and the I'll try to figure out what's the problem with them being displayed like blurred...
The good thing is that I put togheter a good Leto-SS camo picture, which is the one in the picture above, since it was a bit difficult to find it around, with a good resolution without being a photo of a Gorka (which is the mountain vest used by MVD, Spetsnaz and FSB. And BF3 soldiers of course ;-) ) put on a bed or something :-D

I hope I'll resolve the problem with textures and please, if anyone knows, just tell me *HELP*

Roger that. The damn unwrapping is driving me crazy... Oxygen 2 handles it like ******************

Added 4 hours 11 minutes later:

I think this is not going to be released anymore... It's too roughly made... BUT, there are some hopes: If I find how to properly unwrap without oxygen, that's a bigass hope for you guys and second, changing type of camo may help since I have not real HQ textures for the current camo.
I hope you'll understand my difficulties with my first real addon.

@3liteHunt3r
What exactly is this link you are posting above? This is not your wip thread so I assume you are posting a file which you made? Or someone else? Are those ported BF models?

Sorry everyone for the lack of info but with school I've been busy a lot. I hope to restart soon although it is a very humble project since it's my very first time I get myself into UV mapping and stuff. :-)
