Is it even possible to script certain units to follow the rules of a custom faction? Like let's say I want the Takistan Army and Russians shooting at each other even though they are both normally OPFOR while at the same time having USA (BLUFOR) in the mix for a big military three-way free for all. Plus I want Terrorists who attack everyone, and Mercenaries on the side who don't attack anyone except the Terrorists.

This is just an example I hope to be understood. I want to have a total of 6 factions.

-USA: Hostile to Takistan and Russians.
-Takistan Army: Hostile to USA and Russians.
-Russians: Hostile to everyone except Civilians.
-Terrorists: Hostile to everyone. Period.
-Mercenaries: Non-hostile to everyone except Terrorists.
-Civilians: Non-hostile to everyone except Terrorists.

I also want the factions to shoot back at any players who kill one of theirs, similar to how the AI behaves in the event of a teamkill--except it only takes one kill (or even an injury if possible) to trigger it. However I don't want them hostile at the WHOLE faction, just the dick who shot them. Basically, retaliation.

I think you can only have three sides and Civilians which lack some of the functions of the other sides.

I don't think there's any way around it.

Actually there's 8 "sides" coded into the game. I just have no idea how to use them.
