Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in:
32-Bit - C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/
64-Bit - C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/

After extraction it should look like this:
Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/@mod_name

Pictured Example:

You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this:
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\

Place the "userconfig" (if present) folder into your game install folder, usually:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3".

You'll also need add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in:

-mod=@mod_name

For using multiple mods you would then do so like this:

-mod=@mod_name;@mod_name2;@mod_name3;@mod_name4;@mod_name5

Pictured Example:

Now simply run the game and enjoy your mod :-)

My only question is what if you say 3-4 mods you want to run at the sametime?...Do you just put one behind the other like
-mod-@CBA_A3 -mod@Stance_v1 -mod@Newtroops.

Like that cause that will get really log quick....I used about 30 different mods on Arma 2 at the same time...but it wasnt through steam? So how do you do multiple mods at the same time on steam?

Thank you

It would be -mod=@CBA_A3; @Stance_v1; @Newtroops; @Whatever if I remember correctly, haven't had to use a manual target line in so long, since I use an arma launcher.

Hello,

I have a question.

Why also i need add a Launch Parameter to Steam, if when I put the mod in the arma 3 folder itself it still works for me without writing the path in steam?

I put it like this Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/@mod_name.
And its works fine, You say to put the path of the mods anyway?
Like this:-mod = @ mod_name; @ mod_name2; @ mod_name3; @ mod_name4; @ mod_name5
Despite the fact that I also have not put the path and it worked for mr.

I'm having a hard time getting some mods to work.

I've played ARMA for years and know how to create mod folders and activate them in steam using the -mod=@mod_foldername.

For some reason not all the mods are working this way. I have CBA. The mods that are not working mostly seem to be new units/weapons/etc...

If I take the mod files and put them directly into the Addons folder in ARMA 3 directory, they work just fine. However I really don't want to use the mods this way. Is there any reason at all why they wouldn't work normally?

I've even tried opening each mod folder, creating a "Addons" folder to put all the mod files in.

Help, please!

Like this:-mod = @ mod_name; @ mod_name2; @ mod_name3; @ mod_name4; @ mod_name5
no spaces, should be like this:
-mod=@mod_name;@mod_name2;@mod_name3;@mod_name4;@mod_name5
