Some of you might remember my A2 guide :)

Simple Helicopter Insertion

Step 1: Place your squad. In the leaders init add (heli being the name of the insertion helicopter)
{_x moveincargo heli} foreach units group this;

Step 2: Place your helicopter. (name it heli or whatever but make sure its the same in the squad leaders init.)

Step 3: Place a invisible helipad where you want to land

Step 4: Add a 'Transport Unload' waypoint for the helicopter on the invisible pad

Step 5: Add a waypoint leading to the edge of the map and in the 'On Act' put (this will delete the helicopter)
{deleteVehicle _x} forEach (crew heli); deleteVehicle heli

Simple Helicopter Evac

Step 1: place 'player' on the map, with or without squad members

Step 2: name them all eg. unit1, unit2, unit3

Step 3: put heli some where on the map, name it heli. Place a waypoint pretty much on top of the heli

Step 4: place trigger "Radio Alpha" (this is the what you radio for the evac to commence) sync it to helo's first waypoint (the one right next to the helis starting pos)

Step 5: put another waypoint on a helipad (invisible) where you want the LZ to be. the waypoint should be 'load' and its init should be
dostop helo; helo land "get in"
then place another waypoint next to the H pad. In the condition of the waypoint put
((!alive unit1) OR (unit1 in helo)) AND ((!alive unit2) OR (unit2 in helo)) AND ((!alive unit3) OR (unit3 in helo))
add however many units you have in your squad.

Step 6: place a final waypoint that leads to end of mission eg. trigger ending game or another drop zone.

Alternate Method

Step 1: Place your choice of helicopter
Step 2: Place support requester module
Step 3: Place support provide: Helicopter Transport
Step 4: Sync (F5) Player>requester>provider>vehicle

Hope this helps future mission makers :)

I really appreciate this man! Any chance you could tell me how to force my unit to unload? After landing, the player unloads, but the unit waits for disembark orders. Thanks a million! I'm new to Arma and this helped add some immersion to my first mission ^_^

if your are squad leader its up to you to tell your men to disembark. units follow orders.

tip: as the helo is slowing down to land order your units to disembark, saves you having to do it if you come underfire while disembarking

documents>Arma 3>Missions
or for my other
documents>Arma 3 Other profiles>my account>mission

just make sure you're on the right account when you load it

hi there,
i don't know if you're still following this thread, but to answer your question about the squad leaving the helicopter on there own...yes there is a way.

place the helo,name it "chop" next place the squad with this in the squad leaders init line:
alpha = group this; {_x moveInCargo chop} forEach units group this;
place an invisible helipad and call it "lz"
place a trigger next to the helipad, put all the axis at 0.Now place this in the triggers condition line

(player distance LZ <30);
now place this in the triggers act line

{doGetOut _x} forEach units alpha;

then place a move waypoint so the helicopter flies away to where you want it to go.

What will happen is that the helicopter will fly to the lz and your aquad will all jump out with you. I prefer it this way.....it's just down to individual taste i suppose.

This code is not mine,i found it on the arma 2 videos in you tube....a great source! Many many thanks to the person who put it there.
Hope this helps.
