C-17 Globemaster lll (v1.4)

INTRODUCTION
I will begin by saying this. I DID NOT MAKE THIS MOD. ALL CREDITS GO TO THE ORIGINAL CREATOR MUKCEP.
This project has gone from person to person but was never completed. I was able to get the mod through a friend who told me that no one is willing to complete at this point so it will most likely stay the way it is now. If I had known how to make mods, I would have done it myself, but I don't know a thing about coding to begin with, so I'm asking the entire ArmA Modding Community to help finish it and hopefully release it to the public in a Beta or even a complete form and to continue working on it from there.

ABILITES
- Can load up to 4 Humvees
- Can load up to 54 players
- Has a working ramp and Boarding Door

PROBLEMS
- Pilot controls Second Pilot's head movement
- C-17 has shadows inside the interior that make it look stupid.
- You can walk right through some parts of the C-17.

- Two Jumping Memory Point, one to the left and the right of the plane near the Para doors
- Two working and animating Para Doors

Hi and welcome to the forum and congrads on the release! I hope that this time this great airplane does not give rights issues as it did once. 45MB is not really big for this amount of textures, this must mean they are not the best quality (512x512 should be 2048x2048 in A2)? Does the mod require CBA to be installed? for flight characteristics you might want to have a peak at the C130 ArmA2 config. I would love to help with whatever I can but I’m also not very good at modeling, just the config stuff.

-For the shininess you might get lucky messing around with the specular power in the rvmat that controls the fuse material (maybe this one : fuz.rvmat). Here you will find specularPower=50; maybe lower this to get a different result (open with notepad)

- maybe this works: instead of inheriting just from the 'plane' class try this: C130J_US_EP1 (for CO) or C130J (for A2). Or have a look at the wonderfull C130 made by NZDF team or the big Russian 'Wings of peace' mod.


Error:
-when i place a pilot and then the globemaster in the editor i get a CTD : include file wop_gui\data\scripts\dikcodes.h
the file is not found in the package

I am having the same issue as -=XTRA=-Larsiano

I have been waiting for soooooooooooooo long for this plane, hopefully you can get the error fixed and
thank you for the release, as also stated above, past times have been hard on this plane with rights issues
so I hope this one comes good :-)

I look into it tonight and hopefully, with what I know and the information you guys both gave me, I can begin to fix this plane and release a v0.2 alpha this week.

Added 8 hours 15 minutes later:

UPDATE: I may or may not have messed with the the .pbo before releasing, not sure, that might be why you guys are getting the error because it appears that I do not get the error I'll post a different link tonight. Also to answer your question Larsiano, it does not require CBA. I am though very confused with changing the quality, could you guys help with that?

UPDATE: Found the error, will be releasing a different pack.

Hey love the mod jumped over to Arma 3, but it isn't a C-17 mod until you have a Charleston tail! That was my home base of operations and I have spent more hours loading half of Armaholics inventory on and off those then most people play.

you can fix the missing config class by adding this to cfgvehicles:
	class Wreck;
	class globemaster_Wreck: Wreck
	{
		scope = 2;
		model = "\globemaster_c17\c17_Wreck.p3d";
		displayName = "Globemaster Wreck";
	};

The only fix i know is listed above. The rest are model problems and thats not my field, just wanted to let you know. I used models with this many errors in some MPmissions and the result was a lot of lag for most players.

This is going the right way :) Any possibility to fix the model errors? Maybe some modeler can lend a hand here? Also the flight characteristics are not that bad. They just need a little tweaking. Have you tried to mess around with the rvmat already to reduce the specular power? and last I’m not an army color expert but to me the texture seems a bit too light , maybe darken it 15/25% can help?

Tried the rvmat file, it didn't work. I also feel the textures are a bit too light.
