Hi all,

I've been scripting Arma1 and 2 for years but they were installed from disk on my system. Now I have a steam version of Arma3 and there is no Arma3 folder! Where do you put the scripts that you have?

Generally you would have to go into My Documents and find your way threw your arma dir in there. if not create one.

Nope. That didn't do it. I made a folder for script in MyDocuments\Arma3 = no luck. I put the scripts directly into MyDocuments\Arma3 folder = no luck there.

Any other thoughts?

Scripts for arma you can put anywhere you want on your hdd. But if you want to use them you must add them to your mission.Put them in mission folder.
Your arma 3 is in steam\steamapps\arma 3

He isnt on about Missions! he on about adding scripts to missions using obviously the editor!

r6751 if you can not find the mission folder via this way:

Documents > ArmA 3 > Missions

Then I can only think you have messed up the installation process somehow. I too am using the steam version and
it automatically installs the folder for you while installing the whole game.

1st - Check The Rules! 2nd - Use The Search!

I found it. No, I was not trying to find how to use scripts in a mission. I have my scripts in a folder. I can call them from any mission created. However, I found that the folder had to be put into the folder that contains arma3.exe file. That is steam\steamapps\common\arma3

That works. I have yet to make the addons work. I put them there too but they are not loading.

I'm not familiar with steam but the arma3 manual mentions changing something in the steam client. I looked at that, I think, but found no way to access anything for arma3 that way. Except to play it.
