Correct, the RSS feed has been disabled.
People can follow us using our social channels or visit the website. RSS had its time :-)

Added 11 minutes later:

Oh btw, would you like me to change your username? Seems you added your email as username.

Hi Foxhound,
It seems email address comes by default in "in-game name". I've got the same thing but it's easy to change.

How has RSS had its day? There are many people (myself included, as well as the OP) who still use it. On Armaholic it's really useful to check through the site's updated downloads without having to trawl through dozens of pages individually. Come on guys, RSS is alive and well, bring it back please.

You can sort the downloadlist by date (newest on top) so the RSS feed has no use for that at all.

Nah is all good , But I am still surprised that you guys have killed off RSS as it is still a lower bandwidth solution then "Social Media feeds" and it allows more flexibility as well...I woudl hope you guys reconsider it.

@Foxhound - yes, that may be true, but it still means I have to check the page for each category - a long and laborious task, given that there are sooo many categories and subcategories. So yes, I can sort categories by date order, but unless you're going to put all of the categories into one feed it's pretty useless to me. That's why I love RSS - it gives *me* the control, it's more flexible, lower bandwidth, and generally easier to keep up-to-date with new releases and updates.

I love Armaholic, but to be frank without the RSS feeds it's going to be just too time consuming and too much messing around to find new releases across all categories. Please, bring it back.

EDIT

I have just been taking a look again at the download section of the site... Arma III has 8 main sections. There are then 20 sub-sections across some of those 8 main sections, with other sections being directly populated with items, making a total of 23 individual pages. Checking all 23 pages and sorting them individually by date takes considerably longer than refreshing my RSS feed and checking all of the new items in one hit.

I understand your point, but I will not re- enable our RSS for certain reasons.

The new website will be released soon and there you can sort our downloadlist however you want as all files show in one list....if you want. I guess you will have to be a little patient until than.

Ah, good, okay, new site, didn't realise. Shame though, the RSS feeds were one of the most useful things on the site.

I hope you wont say that anymore once the new site is released. It comes with many new functions and after that we have more suprises ;-)
Development of everything has been delayed due to my bad physical condition due to different operations this year.
But, I have picked things up again now and wont stop till its done :-)

Cool, can't wait to see it... I shouldn't complain really, it's a really good site and pretty much the only place I go to check out what's new. But hey, I'm British - complaining is what we do best :D

I am not ahppy with the disabling of the RSS Feed. I really like that feature to keep up with all the new posts, and if I saw an Item I like I checked it out :(.

I totally agree with glennog.

i had the RSS feed added in my Feedly, so i was able to see at a glance what was new.

RSS most definitely has not had it's day. in fact, Google just last week basically said that an RSS feed was something that webmaster who are looking to be good SEO citizens should use, in addition to an XML sitemap.

IMHO as an experienced web engineer professional, disabling the RSS feed for what appears to be no good reason is short-sighted and a damn shame.

just my tuppence.

EDIT: just saw

i didn't realise this! okie dokie, patience is a virtue. thank you! :)
