Transferred thread from the shitty BI Forums :-)

This is a revival of the OFP Nostalgia Pack.

Back in 2001 a few talented people created the first OFP Missions using the demo content and a 3rd party mission editor - remember the full game was not even released back then.
It was the time were mission editing people were real men and exploited the game in order to find out how stuff is done. ;-)

I have converted and fixed these missions so they can be used in CWR². Where possible I added playable slots for MP usage, see the readme file for a list of MP compatible missions and their player slots.
Converting these missions was a pain because the back then used unofficial editor created mission files which are no more readable by ArmA2. That means I had to fix the bugs manually, then imported the mission and then started working on them once the mission became stable.
I changed a few smaller things and scripts but I would say I reached the goal of keeping 90% of the original mission.

Compared to todays 'standards' these missions are pretty easy, some would call them even 'crappy' - usually there is no fancy scripting and effects stuff. However playing these missions gives you an idea how it was back then in Summer 2001 as the community was awaiting the first War Simulation from Bohemia Interactive.

You can read the original text made by famous Avon Lady here.

I have to thank a lot of people here:
First off, all the people making these missions back then.
Avon Lady for fixing the original missions for OFP and having them still downloadable until today.
Shuko for his Taskmaster script.
Sander for testing the missions several times.
Mikero for his 'fancy' editing tools, they saved me a lot of grey hair.

You can download the 39 mission package here.

I'm currently improving the mission files a bit. So if you have any bugs to report, this might be your last chance to have them fixed. ;-)

Hey W0lle. I downloaded this mission pack a while ago and absolutely loved it. I've attempted to re-download it, but every time I'm taken to a "404 Not Found" error page. I've tried both FTP 1 and 2, same result. Just thought I'd let you know.

Looking at the many bugs I discovered while redoing the old version, I think the 404 error is a good thing. :-D

I'm almost done with looking at the missions, just need to do some last checks then I think it's ready to go public.

8-)

Nostalgia Pack v1.03 finally uploaded. See first post for the link.

Edited with latest CWR² and v1.62, I can not guarantee that it works with v1.63 as BI effectively locked me out from the latest patch. Anyway have fun, hopefully there are no dramatic issues left. :-)
