So after much much debate with myself I have decided to move No Cure to what I feel is a much better map Namalsk https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/188868-namalsk-for-arma-3/. Here some screen shots of some stuff now using this map. I think it has a much better feel.!

Break it, study it, rebuild it.

Dude i love the work and mod you are making i've been back and forwards on this forum always checking for updates! You've probably made a lot of progress on the new map you are using but i felt the screenshots from Altis felt more atmospheric and had a more post-apocalyptic vibe going on! Aswell as the excellent settlements you made! Brang back the old DayZ mod feelings! Looking at the new screen shots on the new map, the buildings just look like they don't fit in and just don't have that atmospheric and DayZ vibe to it! But if you far into work onto the new map maybe consider having both maps available to play? Anyways i love the work your doing and can't wait to play this amazing mod/mission file!! keep up the good work!

Hey bud thank you for sharing you thoughts and interest. I agree in some respects that Altis did look better and I thought about the change for a while but what made me decide was the difficulty with Altis.
The shire size of it means that in order to make the whole map have that post apoc feel would have meant a HUGE amount of Eden work and once I was stuck into it I came across problems such as mission load times where terribly long due the the additional amount of objects I had added to the map and I was only about 20% in. By the time I would have finished the map would have taken about a year to load XD.

The only real way to do it would have been to edit the map in terrain builder wich I have tried using before and failed horribly as I cannot use it.

When I found Namalsk I checked the terrains object count which turned out to be considerably lower then Altis meaning I have a hole load more room for additional objects placed via Eden. I have currently added 3 new cities 2 villages and loads of settlements and small camps and there are now load delays no lags no anything wrong!.and everything has that post apoc feel to it. I have added S**t loads of grass and tress and bushes making everything heavily overgrown.
As for the buildings you are 100% right they dont fit in and look out of place and I intend to change them and use Arma 2 buildings that will fit in much better. Here is some screens of the latest settlement..I will leave the inside to your imagination.

Haha i know i've tried myself and am still currently customizing Altis for a post-apoc look and is coming along well as i do alot of map design! Would be happy to help if you needed any! anything to help you get this out quickly for everyone waiting! I am amazed by the screenshots you have left, looks amazing, guessing that is some sort of trader city? love how you did the lights aswell. Yeah i feel that the overgrown look plays a big part in the post-apoc feeling and atmosphere... Also maybe look at the new map with is in the new Arma 3 dlc think its called Tonoa, looks like a tropical map with dense jungles and ancient ruins but probs won't fit the post-apoc feeling, well depends? I noticed the Rest bar on the bottom left of the screenshots which is interesting, never seen it anywhere but you thinking of having a sleeping bag or finding a random bed in a house? Anyways if you need any help with map development or even custom models i could see if i could help! Again keep up with the great work dude!

Morning,. I like the screen mate they look good. I am 100% going to give terrain building a miss as thats a huge time consumption and I just dont have that time. As for the screens i posted above its a settlement on a mountain top its not a traders town specificity its more multi purpose.
All the settlements will have shop/stores to buy and trade along with everything else needed to form an imersive world. The light started as just a test idea but it worked well so I have left it and will impliment similar effects throughout the game world.
Yes atmosphere is well.. essential. I feel it makes or brakes a game/mod it is so important .
Th rest bar
Yes this basically means sleep / energy it decreases over time while your awake
it decrease more if your running or fighting
it has sub effects so if your tired the vanilla fatigue system starts to kick in meaning you cant sprint for ever
and as the rest decreases more youll see screen effects (blur/shaking) representing extreme levels of tiredness.
to increase/replenish your rest you can
1. Find sleeping bags and set them up and select how long to sleep for,
This has its own problems as you can be robbed in your sleep
2. Buy sleeping bags from traders/shops
3. sleep in beds in the game world
4. or sleep on the ground (replenishes much slower and you get cold (hot cold system in development))
If you let the rest drop to Exhausted you will pass out and again may be robbed.
Custom models you say... How about some buildings? or small items like food? Think you could do something like that ?

afternoon B@Co
Yes I work alone and have been for about 16 months.
How ever I will say I work alone but not without a lot of help from the Armaholic and BIS community..
the forum help I have received has made it possible for me to make No Cure as well as some of the very good community addons I have included into No Cure.

Thank you :) also keep up the good work with the great white shark it looks awesome!! I could use this in No Cure.

Your interaction system looks really sharp! This was too daunting a scripting challenge for me, so props to you for your great work.
