Australian Special Forces Gear

by
BroBeans

Description:
A mix of different gear and uniforms to allow users to create interpretations of Australian Operators.

Features:
- Vests
- Uniforms
- AMCU
- AMCU w/ Tan/Green/Black/Grey Shirts
- Backpacks
- Optional TFAR backpacks

Installation:
Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in:
32-Bit - C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/
64-Bit - C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/
After extraction it should look like this:
Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/@your_mod_folder_name

You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this:
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\

You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in -mod=@your_mod_folder_name
For using multiple mods you would then do so like this:
-mod=@mod_name;@mod_name2;@mod_name3;@mod_name4;@mod_name5

Note:
You can also use -nosplash to get rid of the splash art and intro videos.

And of course you can also enable and disable community made addons and mods through the in-game Options Expansions menu if you do not want to mess with startup parameters!

When the above information still does not provide you with enough to learn how to install custom addons and mods you can always ask in our Guide On Installing Mods.

Included files:
ASF_Vests.pbo
ASF_Core.pbo
ASF_Uniforms.pbo
ASF_Backpacks.pbo
Keys to match.
Server Key

v1.01

First mockup using the indo uniform, kind of like it more than the Crye for special forces.

Opinions?

Also i've been mucking around with the camo again and experimenting with different heightmaps. Opinions on these please?

Basically pick a or b :)

Any and all comments are encouraged. I enjoy hearing others' opinions

Hi BroBeans,

First of all very nice job on the mod.
Although I was wondering if there are going to be helmets implemented into this mod.
Also I personally think the plate carriers are bit small.

Kind regards,

Jo

There are plans for helmets I'm just not sure how far off they are. Still deciding if I want to use the airframes from an external mod or stick with the default BI gear.

As for the platecarriers. I'm considering retexturing some of the existing BI gear to use as heavy vests. Often the LBT is used with SF due to its high mobility over protection.

Brobeans the helmets look pretty damn good. Good job!

Also regarding the new DPCU and DPDU uniforms, are you going to update the pants to fit the shirts? Because it looks a bit interesting atm haha
Anyways loving you work.

Regards,

Jo

At this stage I don't have plans for full DPDU and DPCU uniforms. They're primarily in there to create options and diversity. As often SOF use somewhat random mix ups of gear.

Helmets and facemasks will be out in a week or two along with possibly some other abstract uniform variants. ;-)

Thank you for the kind words also :-)

Thanks for the update Bro!
I seem to be missing something to do with the vests though.
I have Spec4 installed, and have tried re-downloading it and
your files a couple of times now and i'm still unable to see
the vests in VA or the editor.
Have also tried running with no other mods installed.

I get this in the editor " No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWeopons.ASF_AMCU_1'."
And this in virtual arsenal "Picture\lbt\ui\lbtcoy\_ca.paa not found"

Any help appreciated.

Cheers Mate,

Disco.

Greets,

I'm currently away at the moment visiting family until Wednesday. I'll take a look at it then, I'm assuming the problem is still persisting?

I know what the first error is , i forgot to remove an old definition from the config. But this wouldnt cause any major errors.

The second sounds as if Spec 4 isn't installed properly. Did you create a mod folder especially for Spec 4 Vests or did you just include the files in the '@ASF' folder?
