Ok, here's my first "real" addon. It contains a UH60 Medevac and a UH60 Cargolifter.
Both models are altered BIS original models, also textures.
Note that the actual state is not final as some features aren't implemeted yet.


UH60 "Blackhawk" Medevac

The Medevac has the seats in the back removed and 6 stretcher have taken place to carry 6 wounded Soldiers. The Weapons were removed.
Right now it has only a Pilot but i will add a Medic Soldier which disembarks if wounded units are near. Plan is to heal them unless they are really heavily wounded.


UH60 "Blackhawk" Cargolifter

The Cargolifter is meant to carry heavy load of any sort. All seats in the back were removed, also all weaponry to get max lifting capacity.
Right now there's no lifting capabilities built-in but Mandoble allowed me to include his excellent hitching script so this model will have lifting capabilities "out-of-the-box".

Please note that both choppers actually have no decent function but at least they look right for the role they're meant to fulfill. In the next version (hopefully in the next few days if all goes well) both will have decent functionality.
- healing functions (hopefully with a medic that heals)
- lifting functions (by Mandobles "mando hitch" script)
- corresponding map icons (red cross and crane symbol)

As mando hitch will become part of this addon, you should be able to use the mando hitch scripts also for other choppers aswell, without the need of having the scripts installed separetly. However, i'll include it in a way that will not interfere with the standalone mando hitch scripts.

but the work you done so far looks great.

Thanks Foxhound, but the work was actually not much more than deleting stuff (M134), moving sections (open second cargo door) and copy/paste (stretcher taken from M113 Medic).

Future plans after this one is finished:
- New addon with uparmed UH60:
- UH60 AA (4 Sidewinders)
- UH60 ATGM1 (4 AGM65)
- UH60 ATGM2 (8 AGM114)
- AH6 ATGM (2 Cannon, 2 AGM114)
- MH6 Medevac (2 stretcher, one each side)

For a matter of balancing i will close the cargo doors and only allow one passenger besides the Pilot. So these Choppers will not become too much of a all-in-one vehicle. Might not be realistic but i guess balancing is more important at this point.

Those future plans sound nice. a MH6 Medevac would be great to see knowing you might be makin one of them all kinds of mission ideas have poped into my head ill have to start workin on some. how will the cargo lifter work? do you just hover over an object and then a action appears sayin to pick up object. Lookin forward to the final version and your future projects. Keep up the good work.

The cargo lifter will get Mandoble script "mando hitch" as i got his permission to include it. You may take a first look at it here. I will set it up with no restrictions but they can be made by missiondesigner (not allowing to lift heavy tanks i.e.). Also i'll made it that other choppers may be equipped with lifting capabilities just by using the mando scripts directly from the addon.

As i was running into trouble while including the airlift script (but didn't gave up on it so no worry) i just started the rearmed Blackhawks. Here a few WIP screens from Buldozer:

This is WIP on an pretty early stage and before i release thos, i'll finish the Medevac and Cargolifter. Was just a little frustrated so i moved over to those for a short time. :D

UH-60 Cargolifter & UH-60 Medevac Version 1.0

Addon created by Myke.
Models and base textures by BIS.
mando_hitch script by Mandoble.


Features Medevac:
- Healing capabilities
- Animated Cargodoors (automatic)
- removed seats and added stretcher
- Adjusted texture (added red cross)
- Map icon for easy identifying

Features Cargolifter:
- Lifting capabilities (mando hitch 1.5)
- Removed seats in cargo space (max lifting performance)
- Adjusted texture
- Map icon for easy identifying
- Command bar icon


The mando hitch is set to make Cargolifter capable to lift everything except armored and air. For further informations about to change mando_hitch settings or how to add other choppers to the airlift script, please refer to mando_hitch_readme.txt.

As a M1Abrams doesn't look right under a UH-60, we asked AfrographX if we may lay hands on his excellent CH-47 Chinook for OFP. As we got permission to do so, we've started to improve some minor things (mainly rotors and wheels and also textures) to get an heavy Cargolifter which deserves this title.

We make good progress, model is nearly done sofar. Next things are some finetunings and also some animations (Cargo ramp i.e.).

Here a WIP screen of it:




As the Cargolifters can also carry ammoboxes we thought that a single box below a UH-60 or even a CH-47 looks ridiculous, we make also some heavy cargo:




Stay tuned for more things to come.



P.S.: A little easteregg will be included for those who are pretty curious and know how to use the createvehicle command. More hints after release.

Ah i see, so it cannot heal guys who are bleeding out(alive but immoblie- need to be dragged away from danger), also does the indipendant units heal at this? thanks guys

AH i figured it out guys with the FFN mod all i have to do is throw a green smoke and radia requests a medevac automatically, which takes the wounded guys unable to walk back to base hospital, and heals injures guys
