NoQuarter : OK Dan_n, you asked for it...
Is the 505 Games (US) office still operational, and if so, why were they not tasked to handle the publishing responsibilities for ArmA2 in N. America?

I second this question, don't understand how they could forget about the US Market with no information on how to order.

Appreciate any light you could shed on this.

-How will the civilians work this time?
-Will they disappear from the map if you get far away enough?
-Will their AI just deactivate, or will they always be functioning and taking up CPU power no matter what?
-Will civilians carry on conversations with each other, or other factions?
-When submerged in water, do vehicles explode like in Arma or cease to function like in real life?
-Will water be affected by helicopter downwash like foliage is, or will there be a particle effect?
-Will rain still be inside of buildings, or has this been fixed?
-Will there be foam in the water around objects? Will picking up gear that's in the water damage your character's arms like in Arma?
-Will animals act realistically to danger, and run away? In one of the more recent previews, I saw that the cows didn't seem to notice the explosion. But that was the preview build. Edit: It's this preview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRhhG_IS5k0

I have two main questions

1. Will multiplayer connections act the same as in OFP and ARMA? I do not know the name of this but it pretty much allowed dail-up players to play online with high pings, with hardly any effect on gameplay.

2. Will there be body armor in ARMA2? I keep hearing ARMA2 is realistic but OFP and ARMA made the same claims but nether had body armor nor could a addon be produced for body armor.

^ In the difficulty settings, you can sort of activate body armor. I forgot what it's called. I think extended health. Or are you talking about a body armor model to put on the soldiers along with the extended health?

I'm talking about an actual model added that.. well protects you from incoming rounds to your upperbody, as a removable item. So that the player may choose to wear or not wear "protection"

HI All

An update for you. I have all of your questions sent over to the developers. I am hoping I will be able to reply Tomorrow (Monday). I have lots of information about ArmA but a lot of these technical questions I would like the developers to check first so I get the right info for you :)

Would you all be able to let me know whats best for the answers? Shall I post all as one big reply or would it be easier if I reply to each persons directly. Whatever is best for you guys let me know.

Make yourself a new thread called answers to .... and quote the question with the answer underneath , hopefully foxhound can give ya some permission to be only one to reply in that thread so it does not get messy.

or similar one post here in this thread

There is a distinct lack of credit in addons released for the commercial engine these days, People come to us hobbyists and preen information and then go on to sell the results and never credit the very people that made the addon possible. Then they come back and try to tell us our solutions are there IP .

Excellent. Excellent! Yes. This is a good trade-off.

Edit: So this means that there will be no console version, since you stated "exclusively for PC", correct?

If it is exclusively 4 PC then it ruxxxorZ!!!! Consoles are more for casual gamers(way too many actions for gamepad in this ultra game!) and more time to polish PC version!!!:D

Yes, but my console-owning friends will be disappointed after finding out how amazing this game will be, then seeing that it's PC exclusive.

The release date is "exclusively" for PC.
There is still no info about any console version, nada, nothing which on its turn does not mean there will not be a console version. And neither does my post mean there will be one.......just wait and see :)

Dan I believe you answered the question on every one's mind with June 19th, very good trade off thank you

If Arma2 can be played with console and PC gamers online together, this game would stay populated for a long long time
