I'm happy with ArmA, and at $40 I'll take it over VBS2.

1500 dollar is to much, I own VBS1 with all modules and yes that costed a lot of money too........but the price compared what VBS2 has to offer more than VBS1 is not going to get me into it.

Not to mention cause of this price there will not be much of a MP scene.

Anyway, I do like those tracers though, very nice indeed.

Fixed some spelling mistakes and typo's :blush

Congrats Monk :thumb
I have seen the screenshots in the VBS forums and must say it really looks great.

Maybe one day I buy it again, but not now.
I take most of RE & Cshag have VBS2? Only active MP community left I think for VBS, outside of some really private groups.
Anyway, feel free to post some ss now and than if you like ;)

I dont see value :dontgetit.

With vbs1 vs OPF you would get few new features/improvements, better models and textures, improved anims, sound, interface, animals.. and a whole bunch of "module" bugs :D.

With VBS2 BIA ported many vbs1 models and edited some Arma stuff but it still looks like a mod.
With OPF/Arma addons were/are distributed to everyone in the comunity, in vbs1 stuff was exclusive..

Congrats but im sticking with Arma :).

Pics are just fine here :thumb

Very nice pictures indeed.
Only one thing I am a bit wondering about.............the ground, whats wrong with it? The texture looks weird, as if there is just a color but nothing on it.
I saw the same on the official forums as well but thought it was me.
But now I see it again.

Is it your graphics settings? Did you "rework" the screenshots?

I think it was deliberatly designed this way, atleast thats the impression i got from reading a post by shinraiden about terrain and environment creation @ the bis forum a while ago.

Environmental realism (fidelity), scale, eye candy, frame rates and data storage, priorities... it was one those lenghty posts > :D but an interesting read.

Im guessing that the mil's interest in vbs2 was to have more and better but not necessarily prettier, anyway it looks cool :thumb.

Ive got terrain set to very low,and everything else high, runs just as smooth as VBS1 if not smoother, its alot of money but its certintly worth it,especailly with the UK and Dutch kits coming to it and new islands.:):D

Monk : especailly with the UK and Dutch kits coming to it and new islands.:):D

Whos making the dutch kits?
I always wanted some dutch material in VBS1 :(

Who are working on VBS2 addons these days, like the kits and the island you mention? Is RE doing some private material as well again (like those weaponsSnowfella made for all of you)?

Just curious, hope you dont mind :blush
