I have ArmA2 that i downloaded from STEAM. I downloaded the VOP SOUND MOD and i put it in the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 folder and inside that folder i made a folder called Addons. I have a desktop icon and in the target field i have "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\arma2.exe" -mod=@vopsound_2.0" . When i click the icon the game starts but the sounds are the same as original ArmA2 any suggestions?

Latest version of vopsound is 2.1 ?

So if you just downloaded it, shouldn't you be putting @vopsound_2.1?

Maybe you should also try:
"E:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 19900 -mod=@Vopblabla
I don't know that ArmA2 app ID, but just send a shortcut to your desktop from steam, or edit the steam shorcut on your games list.

Also, check this topic and search for topics similar to the ones you are starting in the future. this is also in the wrong section. Have moved to general as this is a general query about installing addons with steam.

This question should have been posted in Tech Support or in the vopsound thread.

Go to the 'My Games' tab of Steam, right-click on 'ARMA 2', and select 'Create desktop shortcut'. This will ensure the correct applaunch code is used. Don't try launch arma2.exe with command line parameters, it won't work.

Edit the shortcut to include -mod=@vop21 if your mod folder is named @vop21 inside the main arma2 directory. E.g. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\@vop21\

All .pbo and .bisign files need to be taken out of the subfolders they come in (Guns Sounds,Fixed Wing, etc.) and put directly into the addons folder that you create inside @vop21. <arma 2 full path>\@vop21\addons\

I recommend getting the vopsound2.1 repack as it gets rid of the error about vop_c_guns every time you load a mission.
