Well, every NATO member is a contributor to the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.

But it's the hardware the Czechs have. The usual, T-72's, BMP's, basically the same old Ex-Soviet equipment the CDF, ChDKZ and SLA had. No Challengers, Leopards or Type 99's. That's what is annoying me.

BIS have said that the Czech forces in AO will be based on their contingent in Afghanistan, who mostly rock around in 4*4s like Land Rovers, armoured HMMWVs (M1151s), Iveco LMVs (similar to the Panther CLV we use) and Dingo MPVs so I wouldn't expect too many T-72s and BPT-2. I reckon it'll mostly be a few Czech soldiers and some modern Vz.58 rifle variants (or M4s if they're doing Czech SOF)

They also said that the non-US BLUFOR only have a very small role in the campaign; so I very much doubt you'd get much in the way of British kit if they did include them instead of the Czech forces. Too much work for what will be a fairly insignificant part of the expansion.

Personally I'd rather go without British forces than see them done half-arsed.

If they include some of the modern Czech gear like T-72M4 CZ (a bad-ass looking tank IMO), Pandur II, Tatra 815, Saab Gripen etc though, it'd be amazing.

I certainly hope that is the case, mate. That, and I can agree with your sentiment about not wanting to see the UK forces poorly realized. One thing bothers me though, and that's the fact that BIS has yet to really create any content when it concerns addons themselves, with the exception of some reskins and I've seen better work from the community. There is really no difference between the core addons in ArmA 2 and those in my copy of VBS2. Which begs the question. Will they actually create said content for the Czech forces, or simply reskin the available addons in ArmA 2? Personally, just my opinion here, is that we'll get some cheap reskined former Eastern-Bloc vehicles a-la CDF/ChDKZ equipment.

Probably some reskins yes. Why create new models if a faction uses the exact same model? Only reskin needed then right? There will at least be some new weapons a la SCAR wich i dont know if its also a VBS model? No idea. Since i know the community is ace and will create new stuff im more interested in laying my hands on the thermal optics - stated in the latest videos that even weapons get hotter the more they are used wich is very nice to hear. Also im hoping for UAV's to work better so they can be played by humans in an effective and fun manner such as having lockable camera and more zoom. Adding FLIR to them makes them even better and finally (hopefully) we can have players gathering intel to the front line better. Also looking forward to the engine fixes.

For once im actually looking forward to a campaign as well. Sounds fun and with MP support where every player can attack the problems from different angles (2 go with delta force and 2 flying an Apache for example) sounds very fun indeed.

I want new models as well, and to me that doesnt have VBS all models from there will be new to me. Im lucky i guess. :) But the fact remains that if the Czech army or SF uses vehicles we already got - then they need only reskins tbh.

Anyway im looking forward to OA big time.

Awesome video, showing lots of new goodies for us to enjoy ourselves with in ArmA 2. Really looking impressive.
The island itself looks great to but in the video they blur everything to much to really see it.

Thanks Pvt.Kilbur for the video. Give me all the more reason to brag about Arma 2 OA and get it. My wife will have to make some room in the bed for something new coming. Arma 2 on one side/OA on the other.

that's a real expansion, nothing like Queen's Gambit

Yea Queen's Gambit was a disappointment to me. But hell look at the bright side. I don't have to download patches each time I reinstall the game. Operation Arrowhead is something I will sleep out side of Best buy for. I got my camping tent ready to:yes

I think the new video showed us a lot of new features and content, which was good. :) It could of been put together better imo.

I'm looking forward to OA, mainly because of the new terrain. Hopefully bring back that Sahrani feeling.

Gotta agree there, mate. That was defiantly one of the top worst game trailers I've ever seen, certainly didn't make me jump up and say "whoa, yeah, can't wait!". BIS really needs to have a look at some of the user created videos out there and take a few notes concerning cinematography, sound, and music usage.

Incredible, I like what I am looking at a lot. Elevation seems to be included and I definatly like the new hud.
Also nice to have the clock back, I never understood how it worked in ArmA 2, my 12 was never that of the AI I think.
Or maybe its cause i never play with AI......me just noob :)

I don't know if I like how the radar is 360 like that it is in the one screen.

Armstrong-"Hey Carillo, do you see that?"
Carillo-"See what?"
Armstrong-"Something's burning over there, see the smoke?"
Carillo-"That's not smoke it's dust!"
Armstrong-"Dust? i don't get it."
