ADuke's Helo pack - ArmA2
by
ADuke

Description:

Features:
True-to-life model additions by ADuke
Custom cargo positions with animations by MODUL
Integrated fastroping by DeanosBeano
Professional textures by DaveyGary1979

Installation:
As we always recommend use modfolders. If you do not know how to make and use mod folders have a look in our FAQ.

Included .pbo file(s):
ad_helos.pbo

Usage:
BLUFOR->US Air Force->HH60G
BLUFOR->US Army->MH60K,MH60K ERFS
BLUFOR->160th SOAR->160th SOAR MH60K,160th SOAR MH60K ERFS

Classnames:
ad_hh60g
ad_mh60k
ad_mh60k_black
ad_mh60k_erfs
ad_mh60k_erfs_black

Future Plans:
Fix bugs that the community finds
Add lights like the ArmA 2 MH60S
Reduce the amount of textures the model uses
Optimize the fastroping using the "attachto" command
Add an interior like the ArmA 2 MH60S
Add FLIR to the copilot view

Credits & Thanks:
1. MODUL for use of the static animations and for allowing me to convert them for cargo use.
2. EddyD for the HH60g textures that were featured in versions Beta1, and RC1.
3. DeanosBeano for allowing me to integrate his fastroping scripts and rope models.
4. Norrin for his guidance with editing the fastrope scripts to my liking.
5. DaveyGary1979 for his phenomenal texture work.
6. Soldier2390 for his enthusiasm, support, and willingness to share his work (sorry I couldn't use any of it).
7. BloodnGuts for glamor shots on the download page.
8. Everyone who posted in the WIP thread with encouraging words, and bug reports, you are what kept me working when I wanted to throw in the towel.
9. BIS for making such great, open source games/simulators.
10. BIS for the sample uh60 models, textures, model.cfg, and config.cpp.
11. My girlfriend for her patience, understanding, interest, and support.

I receive the following error message using the latest release for Arma I, with Arma 1.16:

"Cannot load material file ad_helos\textures\mh60k\rvmat\mh60_3_co.rvmat".

This occurs the first time I place any of the choppers in the editor and then preview them in game. Oddly enough they look fine, but i guess something is missing somewhere.

All-a-Mort : I receive the following error message using the latest release for Arma I, with Arma 1.16:

I'm getting this same error in the ArmA 2 version, very strange. I have combed over that material file time and time again but can't find anything wrong with it. I will keep looking, anyone else that gets this bug please let me know.

Thanks for reporting that,

-ADuke

EDIT: The error message seems to be intermittent in Arma2, happens every 3rd-4th preview in the editor, do you get this EVERY time?

So just for my own records there are 3 bugs so far that I know of in the ArmA 1 version:

1. Error message: "Cannot load material file ad_helos\textures\mh60k\rvmat\mh60_3_co.rvmat".

2. Visible light squares on the front of the helicopters where the spotlights are.

3. Errors about it requiring Version 1.14 of ArmA

Seems to be only the first time that the error comes up. After that, no matter how many previews I do (which is alot usually) from the editor it doesn't reoccur.

I noticed that the free view look of the gunner was a bit odd, sort of like x-ray vision of the inside of the chopper when I shouldn't have been able to...but as I tend never to play as door gunners I don't know whether this is normal for Arma (as in engine problem) or related to the rvmat error, or something else. I've certainly seen the same sort of thing with the gunner positions of other mods before.

I'm not getting that at all, I know what would cause it.

I will try to put a fix for it in the next version.

I need some dedicated testers.

Going to wait for some more feedback on the ArmA 1 version before I update it. Give the site moderators a rest, lol.

Thank you , by the way, site moderators. :)
