not downloading it simply because you wont let armaholic host it... seems sketchy
The reason y i don't like this campaign is because i speak, live, and read ENGLISH i can't read the mission briefings so that means i can not even play it, if i don't understand what am i supposed to do i can't play it.
Thanks for this campaign Stoned Boy & Imutep,
I just played the first two missions & I loved the dense atmosphere.Seems to me that there was a lot of dedication in creating this piece of work.
I do not see any reason to vote this so bad in here...that's odd.
Maybe you should think about releasing a version with English briefing for our friends from GB & US or all those who are not familiar with German language - it will be really worth that.
At this time I will rate it 4.5 / 5
The reason that it is voted low is because the person that released this stuff is not community minded!!
if you don't want it to be hosted you don't spread it on this website at all!
he pulls up hes work and wants people to play something they not even can understand, i might be happy that i can read and understand English but he can't expect of the whole community that everyone is going to learn German or whatever language he speeks.
the point is if you play a game in a tight community like Arma II or BI's Community in general then i don't want to see this - > Note: Page linking to author's page as requested. He doesn't like us to host any of his work.
personally i don't want to be the boogie man, but if i was the hoster of this website
big points for armaholic for willing, but the author has totally lack of respect!
Ok, seems that i should write a comment here!
I can say that i do more for the ArmA community as you ever do! So be carfull with those words. You write about respect?First at all....this is a campaign in german language. I have also my own site and ArmedAssault.info for hosting my projects. And that's the reason why i don't want and need that armaholic hosted it. Nothing more! And that's also nothing against Armaholic or something else.
I released the campaign on the BI-Forums (not at Armaholic) with the hint, that the briefing is only in german language. That's not my problem if Big (he write the news) overread this. If you don't wanna play it, let it be!
@AndreAce: Thx for your words!
@Armaholic: Thx for the news!
I hope the german speakers enjoy the campaign!
Imutep

I can say that i do more for the ArmA community as you ever do!
No you can't,
Imutep
So be careful with those words. You write about respect?
I don't have to be carful with my words i speak my mind and yes i speak about respect, community minded has nothing to do with what you make for it or what you bring but how you bring it, maybe it is just the fact that i want to play that campaign but that i can't play it because i CAN'T read it and because you in fact say to us all that we can't play it.
So you post something on a generally international community that speaks English and all the rest can just bite the dust! well i kindly take it as a torn in my eye sorry.
I'm just honest on how this comes to me and I'm sure I'm not the only one, if i want to download it i even can't and you know why? your website is in German "I DO NOT UNDERSTAND GERMAN" plain and simple.
think about it
kindly regards from me ...
Absolutly, Yes i can!
(Joking)
Look, people who understand (can read) german can come from Austria, Switzerland, Netherland, Denmark and of course from Poland. And now tell me why i should not released it on a international commnuity (BI-Forums)?
I'm sorry that you don't understand german and i'm sorry that my (our) english isn't good enough to translate all missions in good reading. But you can learn german, it's a geat language with Der, Die, Das.
But we work on the other 2 chapters of the campaign and plan to release it also in english. And i swear that you're the first man who get it!
So have a nice sunday and i hope it's all right between us now.
King regards
Imutep

If your read your own words then you might understand, i don't say you cant release it, i only disagree with the fact that you release it without thinking of the people that don't understand your language, not only that if you see that kind of remarks that you don't want armaholic to host your work and root it to a germen website then it comes a bit strange for other community members.
this has nothing to do with the work you put in to the campaign or how it plays, heck i want to test it out so i can say something about it, but its like someone puts you in a plain with all Hebrew or Russian tags on the meters while you talk a western languige and then they say that you need to fly that plain :s you catch my drift
It just does not feel right like you brought it, it was maybe not your goal but the principle is that you can't lock out people like that and if you do lock out people, you might get response!
And i'm not mad i only disagree
...
So we are going to rate the character/habits of the mission author and not the mission??
Download it or not - your choice.
But I guess it is not fair to rate a mission without having it played.
It's Imutep who's providing a mission to the community (I think he's doing stuff since Operation Flashpoint) and he got his own website to host it for everyone unlimited/free and I respect his decision - that does not make him having a lack of respect.
@KBourne:
I am sorry Sir, but you are not an example for a community member full of tolerance, respect, nor gratefulness as you have shown in your postings at least in this thread.
AndreAce
You missing the point here, its not about tolerance or how many things he made even not the fact how long hes around in the community.
Intolerant? dude you even don't know me, this has nothing to do with intolerance! this is how this came to me for a fact, if someone needs help they can ask it and i will try to figure stuff out, i even look it up if i don't know it. I'm total for diversity now thats just the point is it
I'm very much tolerant on every aspect in life, i only don't like the fact that other people neglect an other group, and thats what for my feeling happened here, the fact that i don't agree on that fact does not mean that im an intolerant person. He cant know how people are feeling if they don't say it, i don't take it against him but he has to know it that this is how i feel and others will feel because of it.
Intolerance? nu-uh its maybe verry easy to make look like im just the boogie man thats intollerant but thats not where i'm pointing at, he knows now how others think about it, he has 2 choices! or he just ignores the fact how other people feel or he can maybe think it over again
don't shoot the massager because he pointed it out ^^
regards
KBourne
I think the only problem you have is sleepless or the fact that i don't want that Armaholic hosted the campaign (your first comment). And i told you 3 times why. Armaholic is not the only one in the ArmA Community. I can release my projects where i want. It's my work, my time and my right since 6 years.
On the BI-Forums where i released the campaign nobody makes trouble about it. All can wait for the english release. And they can read! That's a nice community there.
That's my last comment here, KBourne. Write what you want.
AndreAce
Thanks for your friendly words, but i tink he don't understand the fact here. Or would'nt understand!

Only reason it is not an issue is the BI-Forums do not host files for download. Armaholic does.
Not letting Armaholic host the file and it being only in German and not English only hurts you dude. On those two counts you shut out those who speak and read English as a primary language (the majority of the players of this game) and those who don't wish to visit some obscure website to download material where there could be a much greater risk of getting a virus of some sort.
Perhaps if you got off your ego control trip and let Armaholic host the file and release it in passable English, then maybe you would get more exposure and thus feedback to help improve what is obviously second-rate work judging by the low rating it has received.
Edit - Just checked out the authors website. He is in direct competition with Armaholic. You have some major stones to even ask Armaholic to advertise your work, let alone link to a competitor. LOL.
Luckily I have some knowledge of the German language. Heh, I used your campaign as an educational tool for my college level German class. I had to break out the dictionary for a few of the briefings. I do understand how that would be annoying to people who would have no understanding of German. Oh well, campaign was technically good and well built. I may depbo it if I can so I can learn more about mission editing. Always good to play as non-NATO forces every now and again---especially guerrilla campaigns. Much more creativity involved.
4 out of 5 because of the language issue.
War needs no language :) Pick up the gun and go kick some ass.
