Description:
Hello everyone, so to celebrate ARMA 3's release here's the first version of my British Infantry Addon.
Features:
-MTP Uniforms representing modern British Infantry
-17 different infantry roles, including Squad leader, AT rifleman and UAV operator.
-4 Variants of Mk4 Osprey Body Armour.
-3 Variants of the Mk7 Helmet
-4 variants of PCS style UBACS and trousers.
-HMNVS for night operations.
-7 Rucksack variants for different roles.
-UK Armed Forces faction with Union Jack icon.
-Fully functioning wound textures.
-Working icons for each item on the inventory screen.
Installation:
Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in:
32-Bit - C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/
64-Bit - C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/
After extraction it should look like this:
Steam/Steamapps/Common/ArmA 3/@your_mod_folder_name
You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this:
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name\
When present place the "userconfig" folder into your game install folder, usually:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3".
You may already have "userconfig" folder from other addons/mods in which case it is safe to merge the contents from this archive.
You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in -mod=@your_mod_folder_name
For using multiple mods you would then do so like this:
-mod=@mod_name;@mod_name2;@mod_name3;@mod_name4;@mod_name5
Note:
You can also use -nosplash to get rid of the splash art and intro videos.
And of course you can also enable and disable community made addons and mods through the in-game Options Expansions menu if you do not want to mess with startup parameters!
When the above information still does not provide you with enough to learn how to install custom addons and mods you can always ask in our
Guide On Installing Mods.
Included files:
stkr_britmtp.pbo
stkr_britmtp_cfg.pbo
stkr_l129a1.pbo
Updated config:
If you already downloaded version 1.2 and do not want to download the whole file again you can just download the config from here:
British Infantry Updated config v1.3
Known issues:
-No optimization done! So no extra view LODs meaning performance might suffer with a lot of infantry on screen.
-Some weighting issues, especially with the pelvic protection aound the groin area.
-Shadow inconsistencies, some clipping with the main model here and there.
-A few placeholder textures (specifically the NOHQ's for the scrim and HMNVS).
-Possibly more stuff, haven't had much time to test.
There's still a number of issues with the addon as I haven't had much time to work on it. I've done my best to make sure that everything that is include functions as well as possible (and is as complete as possible). Main issue is that there are no extra view LODs so performance may suffer slightly for the time being. There's a couple smaller things like no clan tags or the grenadier not having a grenade launcher (as I'm using Kiory's SA80s). I will also add that I haven't tested since last night so the release update may have messed with things!
Notes:
Hopefully when I get more time I'll work firstly on sorting out a few of the issues with what I've already made before moving on to adding extra content.

Enable javascript to be able to download from Armaholic please!
the SA80 needs the Grenade launcher, nice uniform. Regards.
Yep other than the SA80 needing the launcher (that's the weapon mod though not the units problem) its all good. Now I just need a good map and some Taliban units and I can start on Arma 3 missions...
any chance in updating this mod to use with the updated sa80 mod please mate?
You have made a wonderful add-on for the British infantry, especially with those quality new helmets and uniforms. I love the L85a2 rifle as well. However, I have encountered some issues after placing units on map , some soldiers only holding hand guns without primary weapons
- No entry ‘bin\config.bin\CfgWeapons.kio_l85a2_s'
I have installed both L85A2 and Susat scope add ons, so I can successfully access them from a scripted crate. however, when I only the Inventory, there is another error message comes out
- "Cannot load texture life_backpacks\data\env_co.paa”
Please help to take a look those issues, and fully wish we can see your advice or update soon. thanks again for the great work!
@charles, sounds like you are using the old version of Kiory's updated SA80, the new one replaces the separate SUSAT and SA80 PBOs and combines them into one, I believe Armaholic hasn't updated their download to include this yet. Anyway see his thread on the BIS forums:
Kiory's SA80 thread
Should just be a case of DLing the new PBO and deleting the old two.
Fantastic Mod, i hope someone makes British vehicle mods with such high quality. My clan (2PARA) Love this mod, have you got any plans for the future with it?
:)
The best Arma mod. Quality is good textures and realism is perfect If I can make a Request, It would be a United States Marine Corps Version with Custom Vests MICH Helmets and MARPAT Cammies No US Flags, Only MARSOC Wears Flags.
could I possible have the classnames for the helmets and stuff?
no entry conflit weapon error.
Completly bugged :(
@GeckoWarrior, could you maybe elaborate slightly?
The current error "No entry 'config.bin/CfgWeapons/kio_l85a2_base/Single.StandardSound" is to do with Kiory's L85s not my mod, AFAIK he'd working on fixing it in an update.
If it's a different error you might be using an old version of his mod, last time I loaded up A3 everything worked fine (except for the gun fire sound explained above).
so whats the faction name for ALIVE
Really like this mod, all that bothers me is that the shoulders look a bit odd. But keep up the good work!
Do we have to have the community based project because it all does is give me random stupid units that i will never use all i want is the British Soldiers

It would be nice if they had British Accents instead of American accents
