Description:
This is the second premium DLC for Arma 3 featuring the highly detailed CH-67 Huron and Mi-290 Taru, the DLC adds new helicopters, the Sling Loading showcase scenario, and helicopter Time Trial challenges (watch new trailer).

The CH-67 Huron is a twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter. Its primary role is the transportation of troops, vehicles and cargo – and is available in both an armed and transport variant. The Mi-290 Taru is a heavy utility helicopter with coaxial rotors and a unique modular construction. Various mission pods enable the Taru to serve many different roles. It can transport cargo, troops, and provide battlefield supplies (ammunition, fuel, repair facilities, and medical equipment). Both helicopters are also capable of sling loading, which is a brand new feature in Arma 3 - and is further demonstrated in the premium Sling Loading showcase scenario. The Helicopters DLC also features four exclusive Time Trials, where helicopter pilots can show off their skills by winning the gold medal.

The Arma 3 Helicopters DLC is supported by a major Arma 3 platform update, which adds a wide variety of new content and features. The platform update is free to all owners of Arma 3.

Platform Update:
The Arma 3 Helicopters DLC is supported by a major Arma 3 platform update, featuring a wide variety of new content and features. The platform update is free for all owners of Arma 3.
Supporting Content
Support MP Mode - A new, sector control-inspired mode challenges players to transport units in and around the battlefield and provide logistical support by delivering supplies and executing medevac operations.
VR Training - Four new courses that help you master the art of helicopter flight.
Objects - A variety of new objects, ranging from landing platforms, to ropes and engine cranes, for Arma 3 content creators.

Supporting Features:
  • Advanced Flight Model - Opt into the alternative flight dynamics powered by RotorLib for all official Arma 3 helicopters.
  • Sling Loading - Carry externally slung cargo under helicopters, and use the rope technology for other cool purposes.
  • Firing from Vehicles - Use your personal weapons from specific passenger positions in a wide range of vehicles.

Features:
  • CH-67:
The CH-67 Huron is a twin-engine, tandem rotor heavy-lift helicopter. Its primary role is the transportation of troops, vehicles and cargo. The Huron exists in two variants. The armed variant with two side gunners manning 6.5 mm gatling guns, and the transport version which replaces the gunners with two additional passenger positions.
  • Mi-290 Taru
The Mi-290 Taru is a heavy utility helicopter with coaxial rotors and a unique modular construction. Various mission pods allow the Taru to serve many different roles. The helicopter can also transport light vehicles thanks to sling loading capabilities.
  • Sling Loading feature and use your heavy transport helicopter to support NATO forces on Altis.
  • Win the gold medal and set the record time in four exclusive helicopter Time Trials.

Installation:
At this point, the DLC can be purchased via the BI Store, through Steam, or directly from in game. Depending upon if you've purchased it or not, you'll encounter differences right from the main menu. To explain further, let's take a look at two cases:

The Owners:
  • You launch the game and see an icon at the bottom the main menu, indicating that the Helicopters DLC is installed and owned.
  • Clicking on the icon will open the Field Manual to the Helicopters DLC records.
  • The helicopter is available as you would expect in the editor, along with the official scenarios, and multiplayer - have fun!
The Non-Owners:
  • You launch the game and see an icon in the top left of the main menu, indicating that the Helicopters DLC is available.
  • You could purchase the DLC right there and then, but choose to continue to play on as normal.
  • The helicopter is available to try out in the editor, but the SP scenario is locked.
      - You can use the helicopter with some restrictions (e.g. you can only board the helicopter as a passenger).
      - The longer you actively use it, the more prominent the premium content notifications become.
  • Afterwards, you join a multiplayer server that uses the MP scenario (or any custom mission including the helicopter):
      - You can join as normal.
Again, you experience the progressive DLC notifications and restrictions.
  • Since you've really enjoyed the helicopter so far(!), you decide to buy it in-game directly.
      - The limitations and notifications are immediately removed.
      - We display a confirmation note - thank you!
