Dan Neale, account manager of
New Media Maze, has contacted us about the 505 packshot as well as the press release for the official Arma 2 release date of the
505 Games version.
Additionally he told me he would hang around on our forums so all of you who have questions about Arma 2 can ask him and he will forward the question to the dev's to get them answered where possible.
Also different things are planned to be released every now and than to get the flow of new Arma 2 info started. We can't say what those things are yet as we too have not been told yet what to expect but more info about it should be released soon......or maybe something else!
Press release :
505 Games and Bohemia Interactive today confirmed 26th June as the long anticipated European release date for ArmA II. The sequel to Bohemia Interactive’s celebrated military shooter promises to deliver more of the authentic battlefield experience the series is famed for while developing each area of game play with expansive new features. Featuring the most realistic warfare ever, ArmA II promises to build on the excellent features that have made Bohemia Interactive a respected name among gamers. Players can expect in-depth team-based combat, a comprehensive playbook of military tactics and an enormous battlefield to push strategy to the limit.
“It has been a pleasure building on the success of the first ArmA title,” commented Alex Price, Senior Global Brand Manager, 505 Games. “ArmA has such a vociferous community behind it that we new we had to get this one absolutely right. We are confident that the dedicated fans won’t be disappointed as will as any newcomers to the series.”
You can ask all your Arma 2 questions directed at Dan Neale and the dev's in our Arma 2 forum section which you can find here.
Steam is great, but with a game like Arma2, there are a few problems. First, I'm guessing we'll need all of the computer resources we can muster. So running Steam in the background will kill 49,000K of resources. Second, the main/only reason to get Arma was to mod the game. And modding games in Steam is a little bit of a PITA. I'd rather stick with the tried and true structure of Arma's mod folders rather than try and rig something with Steam. Just my opinion.
Dan Neale:
maybe a demo or some gameplay vids on a new version which isn't the february build???Please, please, please release this on Steam with a demo. Does BIS understand that if a good and I mean good demo is released on Steam how much cash they would be rolling in? Steam is the new "Walmart" of video games. Cha-ching at the virtual cash register!!
Oh good, another shouty marine.
A friend looked at my games shelf the other day and accused me of having a fetish!
well dudes...its time to fasten those boots and gear up. we are about to embark on another fantastic journey of heart pumpin action and early mornings....cant wait for this beast. locked and loaded !!!
I wonder what's going to happen with the US release side of things. I might just order the euro version when released instead of waiting 6 months later for a US release, hehe. :D
Can we have the European version via Sprocket web purchase?:dozingoff
Great news. Progress is going well
Packshot says PEGI-16 and 505-site says PEGI-18. Which is it?
It would be nice to release everywhere... And maybe a demo?
Couldn't they come up with something more original then...a US Marine pointing at us(buyers) and a face expression like "hey look at those simulation freaks screaming of happynes that they finally got ArmA2!!!LoL them look so funny!!!:D"
