*****

Sprocket has given Armaholic 3 free copies of the British Armed Forces DLC which we are going to give to selected winners of a competition we have made for the Arma community.
We have decided this should be a not so easy competition, this so its a real challenge to try and answer all questions correctly. And although not easy we think a true fan should be able to answer all questions and afterall, you have a whole week to try and find all answers!

The competition will run for one week, starting today till wednesday september 1st 23:59. Any entries recieved after that time will be ignored for the competition so make sure you sent in your entry in time!

Competition setup:
The idea was to have 1 question of each game released by BIS including the OFP games, so 1 Cold War Crisis question, 1 Resistance question, 1 Armed Assault question, 1 Arma 2 question and 1 Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead question.
We have created a form where all participants can submit their entries, you can find the competition form here.
Please copy/paste the questions into the form and add your answer behind each question!
Please note some questions require multiple answers!

Use the competition form to sent in your answers, any other submission with the answers will be ignored!

Only registered members can take part in the competition.

One entry per person allowed only. People who submit multiple entries will be excluded from the winner selection!

Make sure to add a valid email adress to the competition form so you can be contacted in case you won a free copy of the BAF DLC.

Winners will be choosen at random from all correct entries.

Armaholic staff/old staff/inactive staff and active team members are excluded from the competition.

Here are the questions:

1. In Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis if you fail spectacularly at the mission "Montignac" there's an alternative mission instead of the usual "After Montignac", what's the name of this alternative mission?

2. In Operation Flashpoint Resistance you are helped out by an old friend from CWC, can you name him and the Resistance mission he first turns up in?

3. In the Armed Assault (ArmA1) campaign refugees inform the U.S. forces about mass graves. From which town are those refugees?

4. Arma 2 question: What is the name of an important file describing the relationships between ChDKZ and certain Russian high-level military commanders:
a) Radium
b) Cobalt
c) Manhattan

5. Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead question: Have a look at the picture below and name the town in which the building shown in the middle is located and how many stairs does the building have (count each stairtread!).

We would like to thank BIS for all their great games over the past years, Placebo and W0lle and of course Sprocket for giving us 3 free copies of the BAF DLC to give to the community!

Stagler released his latest mission in the BI forums.

Quote Stagler :
A British fireteam 'Charlie 2' is being tasked with investigating a report of gunfire within the Grishino. Although Chernarus has been at peace for some time, there is still high tension between the ethnic factions within the country. The efforts of NATO and UN peacekeeping contingents from Britain and the US have been increasingly impotent as violent militant groups have come to the fore there is a resurgence of incidents of ethnic violence and fighting. Chernarus, fresh out of a period of prolonged civil war, is still a volatile state with clashing ethnic factions. Friction between these is a force that the military intervention of the US during the civil war did not stop, and it is likely that the conflict within the country will once again come to a head...

Campaign : Joint Operations - BAF by Specialist

Specialist released a new version of his Joint Operations featuring the BAF in our forums.

Quote Specialist :
Set after the Fall of the Takistan National Army, Coalition Forces launch new operations in the region. ISAF Forces under NATO command arrive in Takistan with the intention of re-training the National Army and rebuilding the infrastructure of the country, but in Takistan, things never go to plan. While the new government is desperately trying to restore their war-torn country, NATO's main focus is now on defeating the many insurgent militias that have formed since the fall of Col. Aziz' Army. You will take on the role of Andrew Miller as his section carry out daily duties in Takistan and the neighboring Shapur e-Dalanper region, from village patrols to escorting convoys through the deadly mountainous regions of Takistan.

British Army spokesman Major Tom Middleton recently made this statement regarding their presence in Takistan.

Major Tom Middleton:
The British Armed Forces contingent in Takistan comprises of several regiments involved in the counter-insurgency campaign. British paratroopers and the mechanized regiments are supporting the stabilization efforts across the land together with several other allied armies of NATO.

AAS gamemode : Advance and Secure v1.14 for Operation Arrowhead

As reported on www.advanceandsecure.com Cat Toaster just released Version 1.14 of the official "AAS for Operation Arrowhead Mission-Pack". One of the main reasons for this release are 14 new missions (plus the 16 of V1.13 makes 30 total now!). We also use some of the latest Features of the latest 1.54 OA-Update and BAF-(Lite)Content like Artillery (Drill Bill) and Shapur (Shapur Showdown). Also we finally really removed FLIR from all vehicles with this Release of AAS in an consistent and JIP-Safe state and the Medic Revive ability is brought back to live again without the requirement of using Beta-Patches.

These are the changes in V1.14:

Thermal View disabled in AAS on Vehicles that gave Blue an unfair advantage

Medic Revive working again

Removed M203s from Mk16 GL TWS to balance it a bit more with Reds counterpart AK74 Goshawk that has no GL

Removed BetaCMAG 100Rnd Mags from Ammo-Crate to avoid usage with Assault-Rifles

Added Nightvision-Sniper-Rifles (Sniper-Class)

Changed Vehicle Respawn-Delay from 30s to 60s (Default)

Changed Default Friendly-Tag Display-Range from 500m to 1000m

Exchanged Binoculars with Target Designator/Rangefinder/Lasermarker-Thingy with FLIR and NV (Recon-Class)

Fixed Custom Loadouts (Loading a Custom-Loadout without having one saved before won´t let you end up being naked anymore)

14 new AAS-Missions including Patch 1.54 Shapur and Artillery-Support (Drill Bill)

Several Bugfixes

Tons of Mission-Fixes

Please note: Only Hosts/Modders/Mission-Designers need to download Releases. No Addons are required, not even Arma2! Operation Arrowhead patched to V1.54 is all you need to run this.

SP mission : Operation BushMaster by Dale

Dale has submitted his latest mission for Operation Arrowhead.

Quote Dale :
This mission is very loosely based on an Afghan War Diary Entry from 2007. This is where a callsign part of Task Force BushMaster are attacked by over 100 insurgents throughout a 3 hour period. C42D (the Callsign) called in air strikes and artillery bombardment but the insurgents still kept coming. You could call this mission the Takistan version of Rourke's Drift, the famous battle where a small Platoon of British Soldiers held out against overwhelming odds. It has been stated that over 4000 Zulus were in Rourke's Drift yet the British Soldiers won the Battle. Finally they were rescued...
